Default I might have to break up with my Slice :(

I bought my little slice and it worked just fine for a while. I was able to stock up on some cards between Ebay and the really good M's sale a couple of months. And then one day it started making extra cuts when starting/ending a shape :( I've attached an example photo.

I calibrated it (several times) and it only helped a little bit. I have tightened the blade pressure, loosened it, and changed the blade. I have also oiled it per their Customer Service recommendations.

I contacted their Customer Service team and in the end they said "that's a known problem for some machines" and basically said that's the way it is. Of course I'm cranky about it -- I'm out money for the machine and all these wonderful cartridges.

Does anyone have any other advice? Ideas? Tips?

That's not right! Their CS is usually really good. Call them back. They have been so good about making things right for other people, I really think they will make it right for you. Good luck!

Making Memories is off my list of stuff to invest in. First it was my beloved cutter; now I've heard story after horror story about defective Slice machines and even worse service from the manufacturer. Very sad. I hope you call again and get someone who knows and cares on the line.

wow! that is unusual for their CS

That is not normal for the machine to do! it is one of the reasons they had to replace my first one!

you deserve a machine that works!

i am sending you a PM

I had the same problem. But after I sent in my machine they sent me back the same machine saying that it cut fine for them and there was not problem and included the sample cuts that they supposedly made. Very frustrating...

My machine is also doing wonky cuts. What I have found is that I have to "Home" the blade after every two cuts. Talk about a total pain in the butt. I haven't packed it away for good (yet) but find that I'm only using it until I can afford a decent Nesties collection.

I would call heir Customer Service back, tell them that is unacceptible and ask for a supervisor if they don't agree to fix or replace the machine.

I have had a horrible experience with their customer service. They replaced my original slice with an even more defective one and now they aren't standing behind it. I am out over $40 in shipping costs and the ordeal isn't even over yet and I was told i would get product to compensate for shipping which last round was a joke. It cost me $22 to send them the machine and i got a tiny pkg of 10 promotional tags 3 of which are unuseable b/c they have the MM logo. I wouldn't put the value over$3. Overall I am very upset and will not put another dime into their product. I have talked two friends out of getting them already.
