I got the Friendly Words jumbo wheel, due to the excellent advice in this thread. I LOVE it!!! It is so much easier (for me) to use this way as opposed to as a wheel. Thank you to all of you who offered such great advice.
Thank you for your suggestions, it is so nice when you come back to a post and see that someone took the time to help. I truly appreciate it. I did try a slick writer on the back of the ezmount but it was still kinda schmeary(sp?) maybe I didnt wait long enough. I am going to try the sharpie route. If it comes off on my acrylic block I assume I can clean it off. I just did another dozen while I waited for my photos to load on my computer. Man this is lookin' good ladies! Glad I wasted so much time here yesterday, at least I feel like it wasn't a complete waste of time.
Happy to help. If you do get some Sharpie on your acrylic block, a little alcohol will take it right off.
I may have to try this. I've been thinking about it for awhile. I love the wheels, because they are so cheap. But I hate how much space they take up.
Where do you guys buy the Alleens tack it over stuff? I use ezmount to unmount my stamps, but that seems like it would be too expensive for those big wheels.
I came across long acrylic blocks that someone sold at a garage sale and my
husband cut them with a saw for the length I wanted and it worked well.

I have an acrylic block from TAC that is 7 inches long. I also have the Stamp Press from Fiskars that I haven't even taken out of the box. (I won it in a contest.) I think I might give this a try. I can wheel pretty straight, but the uneven ink coverage - even with the cartridge - is very frustrating. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas!
Can you please send me a link to the block on TAC? I looked and cant find it.
This acrylic block will fit both the regular and Jumbo wheel rubber.
The guy combines shipping and seems very nice. I bought 4 blocks from him and am very happy with them. (FYI, they are not sanded round at the corners. They're not sharp, but they have not been rounded.)
Awesome! Never would've thought to unmount my wheels. I'm wheel challenged also. I've been reorganizing, again, and those poor things just don't get used often and take up so much space! Granted I only have 5 of them.
Thanks for the tip to use the Cuttlebug plate as an acrylic block!
All of my stamps are unmounted or mounted on EZ mount, but I had NEVER heard of doing that to wheels! That will help a LOT!! I think I'll go work on my wheels!

Does anyone have a preference about whether to use Tack 'n Peel or EZ mount???
I want to unmount my wheels for all of the reasons mentioned above, I just wasn't sure what the next step was! The Aileen's tack it over and over sounds good......
I did all of mine this evening. I have about a dozen. I just wrote the name of each wheel on the back of each "stamp" with a Sharpie too. I put Wacky Tac Repositionable Stamp Mount on the back and stuck them in my unmounted stamps binder.
I used the Tack it over and over product that I got at Michaels. I LOVE that I unmounted my wheels, and all of my backgrounds, and all of my other stamps!!! I use them so much more and have saved TONS of room!

I unmounted mine, and then, since I never use mine on scrapbook pages, just cards, I cut them to be exactly 5 1/2 inches, so they will perfectly fit onto a card base.
I unmounted my wheels today! It was awesome! I know I'll use them now! I put the wheels in the recycling bin and I think I'll give the cartridges and handles to my only customer! I just wish that the rest of my reorganizing would be as easy and as quick!
What a good idea, after un-mounting my wheels. I kept a couple, wrapped thin string and rubber bands around them and used them to create textured backgrounds on air dried clay. I just hate to throw things away until i am absolutely positive they have no use at all. (yes, i'm a hoarder.)
I would like to thank everyone for their tips - my DIL mentioned to me that she had seen this thread and explained to me about using the wheel stamps on blocks instead. I've already removed one using this forum's advice and it went great. I'm sure I'll use them more often now as I found it frustrating trying to keep the stamping even!
