How often do you have to re-ink your ink pads? I'm wondering if I have to buy the re-inkers for the colors that will retire? I have had my black ink pad for almost 4 years and haven't had to re-ink yet.
What do you all think?
I have never reinked a pad and I have had some of them for 5 or 6 years. I should have reinked my original black pad after about 4 or 5 years but it was the old style SU pad so I just bought the new bigger one instead.
However my MIL has reinked many of hers - she is a really heavy inker though.
I opinion is that if I purchase a pad I automatically get the reinker. The reason is that (before I knew about SU) I had a most favorite pad from Annette Watkins that was close to SU's Old olive. When it started to go dry I went to purchase the reinker only to find that it had been discontinued. It is still my favorite green color and nothing has really come close (Other than Old Olive) to replacing it. I personally haven't gone through more than one reinker on any of my pads (other than Versamark) and I've been stamping 20 years and make 100s of cards a year. My Opinion......buy at least one reinker and if you really like your pads juicy....buy two.

I agree! I haven't had that problem, but when I buy a pad I always buy the reinker with it (unless it is unavailable from that source, then go online asap). I always have to have a reinker, not only to use on the pad.. but there are sooo many other things you can do with them like watercoloring and such. I say go for it!
I hope it's okay to ask this on this thread...do you put the entire bottle of the reinker onto the dry pad???
OH NO!!! :-D You only need a little! You can use a reinker over and over and over... almost endless! Well not quite, but they do go a looooooooooong way! I have yet to use a whole one up!

Thanks so much...I'm glad I asked that...I haven't had to reink but that would not be good had I did that....thanks again!

I've seen some neat stuff you can do with reinkers other than just reinking stamp pads. So if ya get them keep your eyes open because there is a lot you can do with them!
I'm terrible about reinking... I never do it! Seriously. I know it's wrong, and yet, I still don't reink. I'll have to break down eventually. It's only been, oh, 5 years or so! My mom is a demo and I think it is seriously painful to her that I don't reink!
