I bought it recently with the intention of using it to hold pictures inside of cards. And to use as a flap on tiny matchbook albums. I'm sure there a bunch of other things to do with it. I just haven't tried yet.

You put the paper in between the slot at the bottom and then press on the lever ;)
Oh wait- you probably knew HOW to use it. hee hee, just joking (and a bad joke too)

Actually- subscribing to this thread. This is one of the few things I own and have never touched- I wrote the wrong number on my order form, I never meant to get it.

I use it to make scallops. Just punch them right in a row so that they connect and you will have a row of scallops.

Here is a card that I used it on.

that card is so cute, RachelAM. Is it difficult to line up the slit punch when making the scalloped edge?

You can also use the slit punch to insert gift cards inside a card (I have done this in the past, but I don't have a picture of one). Here's one I found though:

You can use the slot punch to punch a hole in your card to thread the ribbon through. I have done a few cards like that, but do not have a picture. Found one on this site.

http://stampingjo.com/

Plus Mary has one on her www.stampingpretty.com website too.

Thanks!

Ok, I too have this punch and I barely use it. I've tried to use it to hold gift cards etc. but I tend to make it so the card doesn't fit right or its crooked. What is the trick of measuring to get it just right?

Take your cardstock and punch and punch the slit in the center of the card. Then fold your card so that the top half fits just tucked inside the slit. Then decorate. It can be used as a closure!

Does this make sense? Let me go look in my archives of pictures to see if I can find an example for you! I do not own this punch yet, but it is on my wish list. Now that I see all the scalloped things I need to bump it up on my wish list. Check back I'll be back after I find the example!

I found the picture quicker then I expected. I do not know who made this card if any one does please let me know I will give them the credit they deserve. But I think this card is awesome and it is the reason I want the punch. I hope I have helped.

you ladies are wonderful!!! I'll have to dust off my punch and try some of these wonderful ideas! I'm still unclear how to measure right for a gift card though....if anyone can explain that!
