Default How do you leave the center of your

How do you leave the center of your paper smooth when you are embossing it.
EX:
Like petals a plenty full scale embossing folder how do you make it so the center is not embossed and leaves a oval lets in the middle.

I have tried using a piece of plastic which does make it a pretty embossed plastic and would really love to figure this out without breaking my big kick since it was rather expensive.
Thank you for all your help.

Check out this wonderful blog for many creative ideas for using embossing folders in different ways. This link looks like what you are talking about, but she has tons of great tutorials:

Wow! That link bugga posted is awesome!! I am subscribing to this thread so I don't lose that information. That's so cool.

I expect then, that if you used something card front sized, with say; an oval cut out of the center, you could get an embossed card front with a "blank" oval in the middle for stamping. MUST try this when I have some time....

Very cool link.

I'm not nearly that imaginative. I just ordered these: Cuttlebug Spacer with Oval Opening - $2.99 : Crop Stop!, Your one-stop cropping solution

I got both shapes and, as it so happens, Mr. Letter Carrier just delivered them!

I went to M's and bought 2 unfinished wooden 5x7 picture frames. One is an oval and the
other is a rectangle. They were .99 each and they work great! If I remember correctly
they were in the kids dept. Prior to that I used my circuit and cut out the same image
on 4 pieces of cardstock, then glued them together and that also worked. It was just easier to buy the frames...I'm lazy like that
