I keep the hardish plastic that my cuttlebug dies and folders come in, I trimmed it down and ran it thru inside of the folder...so freakin' cute looks elegant on darker cs. love it cause it's like a window!!
Haven't tried this but it sounds interesting. Thanks for the tip.

I do this with any packaging plastic that has a flat surface and isn't extremely heavy...makes great tags etc...I use my big shot but it is basically the same concept and the cut shape is much sturdier (is that really a word?) than acetate...add some paint around the edges or use stazon to stamp on the piece and it looks great!!

This sounds interesting! Do you have any samples to show us?
Let me get this straight... You used the plastic packaging that the embossing folders come in, in the place of paper? Really? I have a cuddlebug and I have never tried this.... What is the darker "CS"??
I LOVE new ways of recycling!!! It sounds interesting, if I understood the posting correctly.

I guess the next question I had is.....Can you use acetate with you EF too? I hadn't tried it and didn't want to ruin acetate sheets or my EF if it doesn't.

Yes. I've run shrink plastic through (prior to heating) and it worked great. I actually needed a big star and was at a retreat, so I used their Cricut to cut the star. Their machine was tearing PP so I wanted something heavier than acetate to go through. I did have to cut the image out by hand as the Cricut only scored it. I then ran the cut image through my Sizzix using a CB embossing folder and it worked really really well. I then colored the back of the plastic with silver Alcohol Ink, flipped it over, and colored the other side lightly with mushroom Alcohol Ink to distress it. Looks like metal. I'd load a picture but I'm entering it into a contest and the rules say I can't share it on a public forum first. Now I just have to remember to keep the heat gun far away from that project so the star won't shrink!
So, I would assume acetate would work just fine as shrink plastic, which is much thicker, went right on through.

This is GOOD news and opens up a whole new avenue of creativity!!

I just tried it with transparancies I ran two of them through at the same time and it embossed beautifuly! If I can drag myself away from this computer long enough I will make a couple of cards and post them later tonight.
wow that's cool! I kept it all (cough *pack rat* cough) so I could cut out shapes/ghost letters... never dreamed it would emboss too! some times you girls scare me!

I use the plastic as a template for my Stamp-a-ma-gig. I cut a rectangle, line it up and stamp on it with stazon then leave it in my box so I always have it.
Now I have another use for the folder holders too!!!! I love making use of "trash"! I'll bet all kinds of packaging plastic will work with the folders!
