just got my pad of K and company paper today! its so pretty and such a bargain at $19.60 for 360 sheets of paper!
also bought the 12 x 12 pack of vinyl from amazon. the colors are ok . will try to cut with it today
So glad you got it and like it!
I think I started all this because I already had this pad of paper and had used about half of it. When it was on sale for such a great price, I ordered it again! I got mine too, and I'm glad I re-ordered. There are really some pretty patterns in it.
I make altered composition notebooks at Christmas for gifts, and this paper is perfect for that!
Here's one I made from this pad last Christmas:

Like previous posters, I use them for testing, gift wrapping, envelopes, cut them down to use the backsides for note paper - I figure if they are being used for something, they're not going to waste and I don't have to feel guilty.
Another thing I've used them for is making bows (there's a tutorial somewhere for making a package bow with patterned paper, and I had some truly hideous papers that actually looked really gorgeous when I turned them into bows.
I want to second this point about how some papers that are truly hideous are sometimes magically transformed when you cut them up into something. I have a die that cuts a small envelope like a coin envelope (about credit card size, opens at the top). When I first got it, I was trying it out with my machine to see what cutting sandwich worked best, and I was using some of my pile of "ugly paper for testing". To my amazement, every envelope I cut looked really cute. I couldn't believe it.
So from time to time I grab that die, root through the "uglies" and just make up some envelopes. They're great for "wrapping" a gift card, holding a gift receipt (I slip it inside the birthday/shower card), etc. People always find them neat-looking and from my perspective, I feel like I'm getting something for nothing because I'm using up what could've been trash.
I have found that those not so pretty papers look great when you use your butterfly dies. The colors are really pretty. I have also taken striped papers that were not pretty by them selves and used different BG stamps over them. I especially liked the leaf BG stamp I have. I think it is Impression Obsession. I like the idea about using them inside the envelopes. I don't have an envelope maker though. I saw somewhere that showed how to make the insides, just can't remember where.
I have an 'ugly paper pile' on my desk. I use the paper to make envelopes (the post office ladies just love my colourful envys!) and envelope liners also to wrap small gifts and to make gift bags with my bag maker. I never buy wrapping paper anymore...just use the 'ugly' paper! You will find you get so many comments from your friends.
I love the "ugly paper pile" comment. It reminded me on the song lyrics "I loved you yesterday, but yesterday's gone." Yep loved it when I bought it but not so much now. Lol
I only bought one 12x22 pad and that was last time...lesson learned. I have purchased a few 6x6 pads and learned to be more selective.(fingers crossed)
Now it's about all that "pretty ribbon" I keep picking up, especially when I have a coupon from you know where.
This thread reminds me of a thread on the old two peas site and people were talking about how much paper they have. they were measuring in FEET! "I have 6 feet of Bazzil and four feet of PP" kind of thing. Was way over the top.
For 'Uglies' I try to find a part of the paper that I like and use that, or hide the bit I don't like under layering...or I find a new crafter who likes it, failing that I have a friend with an 11 year old who likes everything and anything.
If I really can't think of a way to use it, I donate it to my grandchildren's schools who are only too happy to get them.....especially die cuts. We all cut a few extra because we are sure we will need them....right.
Lindababes idea is great. I made a card this week in which you could use up papers that you didn't like too much, as you'd only see a small amount of it.
I used up some Brusho background behind the word Birthday, but I said in the post it occurred to me this was a good way to use up unwanted DP.
This paper pack is actually only 24.49 as of today (9/22/15) ;)
That's a pretty good deal, but I sure don't understand Amazon's prices going up and down, seemingly at random. When I got this pad of paper back in July, it was $19.60!

I have plenty of guilt over the few things I buy that I actually use. The last thing I need is to pile on guilt for spending money on something I won't craft with. For that reason, I have learned to be very selective when I buy paper packs. There needs to be a lot of "beautiful" paper that I will use (at least 3/4). I buy on sale, preferably discounted 30% or more. "Ugly" pages are donated, used as disposable craft mats or cut and stapled to make a notepad (if single sided).
I know you started this thread about NOT wasting paper, but here is a really good deal. I have this same stack by K & Company and it has many very lovely patterns. It's on sale at Amazon - 360 sheets for only $30.18, with free shipping. That is a lot of great patterns for not much money!
