Ok, I am an official convert to PaperTrey's white cardstock. Holy Smokes. I cannot say enough about their white cardstock. I was curious and ordered a pack, which cost me a fortune from Canada cause it is a flat shipping rate and I only ordered 1. Next time, 10! I actually had some out and was trying to take apart 2 pieces of cardstock, only to realize that it was 1 piece!!
I did 2 stamped images, using Prisma markers on one image, and Prisma pencils and gamsol on the other. No smears with the markers, which I always get with Whisper White, no matter what ink I use or how long I let the ink dry. The paper is sooo white and the colors went on beautifully. Next, I have to try my watercolor crayons and see how they perform.
And I actually made a sturdy card base using this cardstock. I can't do that with Whisper White. I e-mailed SU! and told them all this. Said you might want to stiffen that Whisper White up a bit! LOL! It feels like onion skin to me now. I just wish I could find something like this in Canada to avoid the border charge (which I think I had to pay....but can't remember) which might be horrendous because of the weight of the cardstock. It may come to the fact that I won't care and will order it anyways.
I just ordered the Paper Trey cardstock yesterday. The last shipment of whisper white I got (a few weeks ago) seemed even thinner than ever and I e-mailed Stampin Up to tell them. They replied back that they have not changed the product and if I was not happy to tell my consultant. I hope I like the Paper Trey as much as you do!
I got two packs of it with their last stamp release. I totally agree that it is now my go-to white cardstock! Love the weight. I really love using white as my cardbase. I made a large birthday card for my brother's BD, and the Papertrey CS held the weight of several layers beautifully. Love it, love it, love it!
I will still use WW for image layers, or possibly background layers, but my white base issue has been solved thanks to PaperTrey.
I ordered the Papertrey Ink white paper and I have to agree that it makes a great card base. Very sturdy. I have not tried all inking mediums on this but my first attempt at stamping on it was not very successful. I was using dye ink pads and it just didn't look as nice as on SU's WW. This is now my "go to" paper for card bases, but I think I will stick to WW and Shimmery paper for my stamping needs.

I agree. I will use Papertrey Ink White for my card bases but stick to Whisper White for all my stamped images. The color looked different when stamped, too.
I'll have to try it next time I order. BTW, does PT come out with one new set a month? I thought I should just wait til the next new set to get the paper rather than ordering it separately. Not like I have time to stamp anyway!
Yes, Papertrey will release another set on June 15th. I am a huge fan of those stamps, but I want free shipping, so I usually wait a bit to bundle and order. This white paper sounds nice.
However, I need more paper like I need more calories, so I am going to hold off on purchasing until I make a dent in the boatload of white and off white paper I already have.

Good point. Shipping will defnitely be a concern. Can you get the same paper elsewhere? Usually one spot doesn't have the market cornered on a certain paper.
I haven't ordered anything from there, only because I'm on a shopping hiatus!! I'm doing really well, too!! I do love a few of their sets, & now hearing their paper is this good.......hmmmm.....may have to break down & order soon. I tend to use Naturals white for my bases ~~ seems thicker than WW.
I just made an extra special card and love the weight of it using this paper as the card base! Sturdy enough to handle the layers on the front! Love it; glad I don't live in Canada though....$23 shipping..holy moley!

Thanks for the info ladies! I think I'll be ordering some PT White soon ... I've not been happhy with SU! Whisper White in a long time :( ... at least not for "bases" and I do a lot of single layers cards.

Why should you tell your consultant when you've already told them? You're not going through the proper complaint protocall?
Wow...if the paper is that great I may need to try it out next time I send an order in. I just made one earlier this week and I can't wait for it to come, those sets are so adorable!
I'm wondering if Papertrey's 110# white might not be made by Neenah Paper Co., since they manufacture a 110# white (Classic Crest Solar White, I believe). It might be worth checking out -- I don't know whether Neenah will ship to Canada, or how much it might cost. But you could try a local paper outlet to see if perhaps they carry the Neenah 110# and snag a couple of sheets to try as a comparison. Just a thought.

I love the Papertrey card stock! I will probably continue to use whisper white when stamping an image in color so it looks 'right.' For images that I color with Prismacolors, I'll definitely be using the PT stuff. It has worked very well thus far! Whoever thought you'd need more than one kind of white card stock!?!?!
Thanks guys I'll be ordering this with my next order. I love love love Papertrey. And dont you just love the fact that they wrap the adorable packaging in tissue?

I'vve never heard of Paper Trey Do they have a caty or something or web site? i feel out of the loop here
Hi Annette! PaperTrey is really hot right now (well, here on SCS it is!) There is a link to their site several posts up from mine if you go back. They have acrylic stamp sets (verrrry cute - check out the gallery on their website). I'm a SU! Demo and even I like their stuff (my order is on it's way!) Everybody is very pleased with their white cardstock. Have fun!
I wondering the same thing Sue is -- who makes this great paper and who distributes it in the US???? Neenah does make some great paper and it is relatively easy to get -- Anyone know?
Question about the Papertrey cs - after scoring on a fold line, does it fold crisply and cleanly without odd little bumpies that sometimes happens with SU cs?
Can someone tell me what it costs to ship the Papertrey cs here in the US - is it a set fee, too? (I haven't popped over to the website yet because I just stumbled onto this thread and thought I would ask those of you who've ordered.)
If your paper gets the bumpies when you fold it, you are folding it against the grain. If SU's paper is not consistant with the grain, I'm gonna be next to complain. that would not make me happy if they told me to tell my demo. I'd have to write Shelly personally over that one....
I use georgia Pacific 110 from WalMart/Sam'sClub. How does this compare with the Papertrey? I bought big pack of 150 sheets for 5 bucks last time I bought it. it wasn't much more than that at Sams to get 250 sheets of it.
I noticed some of the new paper from SU is thinner than it was before because my older unopebned packs are a tad bit thicker than my new ones. It chaps me when they cut the quality and then hike the price. I don't mind prices a little more if the quality would be the same, but really, maybe it's just the one cardstock. It was my saffron one... it looked thinner than the others.

I suspected that the bumpies had something to do with the grain. :( It is really strange because it has only happened with certain colors of SU cs (my newest pkg of Gable Green in particular). I got tired of being surprised with yucky looking folds and now use SU cs only for card fronts and panels that I attach to cards made with non-SU cs.
I am particularly interested in the PaperTrey white cs because of color consistency problems that I had the last time I bought our favorite 110 weight Georgia Pacific cs at Walmart. When I opened it and compared it to sheets that I had on hand from the old package, the new cs was dramatically less white and had a dull grey cast to it. I called the 800# to report it and they took my complaint VERY seriously. They had me send the upc code off the new package and sample sheets of the new and the old so they could have a comparison....they also sent a bunch of coupons for free cs and other stuff. Georgia Pacific puts a date on the end of each pkg of cs - I was able to go back to another store and find an old pkg of Georgia Pacific that was still nice white, but next time I buy cs I will be leary of buying more of it because I don't know if they resolved this issue.:(
PaperTrey sounds like it might be worth a try, so I'll keep watching this thread for more comments!
Keep in mind that the cardstock from Papertrey is 110# COVER, and the GP cardstock is 110# INDEX -- which is pretty much equivalent to 80# cover, just a tad lighter in wieght. I found this handy info while poking around on the Fox River web-site ==> www.foxriverpaper.com

I just did some more poking around in the Neenah Paper web-site and they DO ship to and distribute in Canada. You can order up to 4 *sample packs* of cardstock (10 sheets each, I think) for a flat rate of $12.95 shipping in the US -- I'm sure it would be higher to Canada, but might not be $23. Anyway, my thought is that if you ordered some samples of Neenah's 110# cover stocks, you could compare them to the Papertrey and see what's what. Then, if you find one you like, you could find a Canadian distributor (hopefully one near you) and buy from them and save on the shipping and cross-border costs. Neenah has two 110# cover whites in the Classic Crest line -- Solar White (97 brightness) and Avon Brilliant White (93 brightness). Both are the Smooth finish and are on sale at the Neenah site this month -- the Solar White is $22.36 per ream ($.089/sheet) and the Avon Brilliant is $21.56 per ream ($.086/sheet).
Slight side-track: Neenah's Classic Crest Avon Brilliant White SUPER Smooth 80# cover is a mere $19.96 per ream ($.079/sheet) on sale. I'm thinking that this particular stock might be the closest to SU's original WW, before it went wimpy. Neenah's Classic Crest Super Smooth stocks are *really* smooth, and the Avon Brilliant White is 93 brightness, as is Beckett Expression 80# Iceberg. The Beckett Iceberg IS a dead-ringer for the original SU WW -- I've been using it for years. Probably more information on this topic than anybody wants or needs on a Monday morning.

Has anyone tried dry embossing with Papertray paper? With that, I heard of a stylus set from "Royal -something" that looked different to emboss with, looked deeper to color over with prisma pencils. Do they somehow work differently than any other embossing tool?
