My demo did those at a workshop once and she had us use the big pop dots from SU to hold scalloped circles together on the front and back. It's still flexible, the paper will move, but it holds.
E6000 is a glue that holds well and can be found at Walmart in the craft dept. and many other stores.
Once upon a time, I used E6000 for tons of stuff, but have now switch to other adhesives for projects. Why....1. It stinks like something terrible! The smell takes FOREVER to go away! (Kind of ruins the finished project if you ask me) 2. It is really messy to work with. 3. On several occasions I have found the cap gets glued shut after the first use. Trying to pry it open usually causes the tube to become weak and break, leaking glue everywhere!
For my paperclip bookmarks I use the large glue dots. I put one in the top of the clip and adhere the cardstock on each side. Works like a charm, no smell, no mess, and I have tons of them that are a few years old and still holding up great!

Here are a couple that I make. Yessss.. E6000 STINKS..[insert gagging smilie here]. After using it to glue the 2 bases to the clip, I waited about 2 mos. for the smell to go away before building the bookmarks. I used Scotch Quick Dry to adhere the layers to the base. Its been almost a year and nothing has budged yet.
Some people use stamped circles or squares to decorate theirs. You can decorate/embellish any way you wish. Heck, just a circle with a sea shell glued to it would be cute. HTH!
May God bless, Sandi

Reason: forgot the link
Okay...WHERE do I get these paperclips?? I've looked in Walmart, JoAnn's, Michaels....am I just not looking in the right department??
I picked them up at WalMart in with office supplies, although others have posted that they are sometimes out of stock there. Target had some really nice jumbo clips in colors. Those were also in office supplies, but they were more expensive, of course.

I also found mine in the office secton at walmart right near the regualr paper clips and stuff like that.
I just saw them at Walmart yesterday. They are clearly labeled jumbo paper clips and have 15 in a package. They are in a hanging blister package, not a box.
I have used pop dots and tacky glue. And they both do a fantastic job. I tried them both on SCS recommendations just to see if I had a preference, I honestly have to say that they both worked so well that it woud depend on how quickly I need have the bookmark ready. Pop dots instant, tacky glue needs time to dry.

I'll have to check wal-mart again - maybe they were just out the day I was in there - thanks everyone!!
(I have an aunt who's hard to buy for, but she loves to read, so my plan is to make her several of the different bookmarks that I've found on here plus buy a gift certificate to Waldenbooks or Borders).
