I have some glossy SU cardstock that I want to make some bookmarks with. What type of ink works the best, do I have to let it dry for a long time or heat set it...Help
Staz-On is the best in to use on glossy paper... It dries pretty quickly, about 2 minutes or so.... You don't need to heat it, just let it dry.. Good luck with you bookmarks...
I don't have Stazon--I'll have to put it on my list. But is there a decent way to get by with a SU classic pad in a pinch? Yes, I have 50 other projects I could work on, but I want to do this tonight!

S'U! classic pads won't dry on glossy cardstock.... It will forever smudge... You might try craft pads, but they are heat set... Hope you figure something out... I recommend doing another project until you get your staz-on... really....
I use my dye ink all the time on the glossy paper and it dries really quickly. There are a lot of techniques you can try like the Polished Stone technique, faux linen, Shaving Cream. I have demonstrated all of these on my blog. Alcohol ink works excellent as well, as does Staz-on.
I also use Classic Ink pads on the glossy cardstock and have not had a problem with smudging. I've even used the color spritzer that leaves droplets of ink with no smudging.
Classic Ink pads work well with SU glossy Cardstock, Classic ink does not work well on glossy photo paper. I tried it when I was desperate for glossy cardstock. I wonder if the stazon would be better if I ever run out again?
Dye inks all the way (Classic Ink Pads are the SU variety). I created this card a very long time ago using the dye ink pads by stamping the image three times before reinking. It is one of my favorite techniques with glossy cardstock.
Another that is fantastic is Versamark. Stamp your image and let it dry or heat set it - then rub across the surface with your dye inks and your image will resist the ink - thus creating a resist technique.
I LOVE glossy cardstock - search the gallery and resource section and you will find some fantastic ideas using this product.
I agree with Ellen. Dye based inks are great on glossy cardstock! SU! Classic and Spectrum pads are great examples of dye inks. When I first started stampin' 15 years ago glossy was about the only paper we stamped on!!!
I have lots and lots of cards and bookmarks that I have used dye based inks on Glossy cardstock. I love using Kaleidacolor Rainbow ink pads with a brayer for backgrounds! The resist techniques (SP) are great. Glossy offers many design possibilites. Try it and you'll see!
