I have read that a lot of people are using Georgia Pacific cardstock from Walmart for copics and prismacolors/gamsol. I have looked at a couple different Walmarts and can't find it? Is it only in the States? I live in Ontario (Canada) and am wondering if anyone else has found it here??
I have used this for all my cards for the past few years. It is in the paper section, more towards the right of the regular paper with the stationary. It says Cardstock on it. It's about 5 bucks for a pack of 100 sheets I believe. I have used it for all my cards and you can't beat the price :-)
My Walmart in NC has it! It's great! Not quite as heavy as SU! but for the price it can't be beat! I had been using SU! but the cost difference has me using GP unless it's a really special card. It works great for Prisma pencils and gamsol/ofms... I don't do much watercolor any other way, but for that it works great! It's in the stationary section, near to enveolopes and other paper. It says cardstock. Hope you can find it!

I LOVE GP cardstock! My Wal-Mart carries it w/ the rest of the paper. Like all have warned.. be sure the wrapper says CARDSTOCK. GP also sells paper. I dunno if ya'll have Sam's Club or not, but thats where I get mine. It is in a bigger pkg. and costs more but is lots cheaper per sheet than the Wal-Mart pkg. I know this doesn't help Canadians, but I wish you good luck! May God bless, Sandi

I found good white cs at Walmart (In Windsor @ Dougall). Not sure if it was Georgia Pacific though. It's in with the stationery supplies. I preferred the Domtar from Staples though. It's great.

Thanks!!
I live in in Ontario too, and I haven't been able to find it here either. I don't have the prismas & gamsol, so I haven't tried these particular products on this paper but.. I have found that the Domtar & Staples brands 110lb. cardstock seems to be quite similar. Most Staples/Business Depots carry one or the other or both. You might try those papers.

250 sheets for the package at Sam's Club and 150 sheets for the package at Walmart. I can't remember exactly how much the Sam's Club paper was....I'm thinking it was around $8.
Here's the bad thing. I think they are not going to carry it any more! It is VERY hard to find for me now. I still see the bigger pack at Sam's, 250 sheets I think. I am going to go there next week and stock up. I love that stuff. It's not the best CS out there, but it's the best for the price and pretty darn good.
Sorry to be sort of off topic here, but I also wanted to mention that I just got a large package of 320 sheets of 12x12 double sided cardstock paper at Sam's Club for only $19.99. So far I only used part of one sheet of paper. Here's a card I made with the 12x12 double sided cardstock paper from Sam's Club:
I found it today in the Massachusetts area.... Again make sure it says card stock cuz I did the same thing too Thanks to all of you for these great finds
I just went to Walmart today, and picked up 2 package's of Georgia pacific Card stock. I live in RI. It is not with the other papers, try asking the manager if they have it, and if not could they get it for you.

I picked up a package recently in the office section of my grocery store - Ralph's in California - it's a part of of the Kroger's chain. It was about 55 cents more than at Walmart, but the grocery store is 8 miles closer than Walmart so with gas prices at $4.07 a gallon, I figured I came out ahead!
Do you have a Sams Club? I buy the GP 110lb cardstock at Sams Club. The package is 250 sheets for $6.86. A great bargain. I usually purchase 4 at a time and go next door to the office supply store and have them all cut in half.
blessings.
I do but I'm not a member. I belong to Costco. I'll have to look in Costco and see if they carry it. Does the package say Georgia Pacific or does it have another name and is made by GP? I know I've seen their cardstock listed on sites as "Advantage" cardstock so I want to be sure I know what to look for. Thanks.
Did a search on line for GP paper in Walmart. Didn't find any. I live in NY. Wonder why some people find it in Walmart and others don't?
That is so strange...they have it at my Walmart...North Brunswick New Jersey...maybe different store managers order differently...maybe ask the managers if they will stock some????
I will send someone mine for $5 if you really want it. I don't care for it at all. I have at least 150 sheets left maybe more.
That's so sweet of you Michelle but that's ok. I have plenty of watercolor paper but I wanted to see what it was about GP that people seem to like about it. Wanted to see if it was better than regular watercolor paper. I'll just use what I have.

I can mail you a few pieces to try if you want. If you are interested you can PM me.
Here in the Austin, TX area, we are fortunate enough to have it in our WalMarts. I love the stuff. It's not good as a card base because it's pretty flimsy, but it's great for layering. I use it with my prismas and gamsol all the time. I don't like it with my Copics though, as it just bleeds right through. For Copics, I use Gina K's Pure Luxury. No matter how much you try, your Copics will not bleed through. The Pure Luxury is super thick and very bright white.
I like GP because I can get so much for so little that I don't feel like I need to skimp. I don't even bother saving scraps (unless they're pretty big).
I just wanted to add to this thread since there has been some activity on it today. For all the Canadian stampers who will be looking at this, Walmart in Canada quit carrying the Georgia Pacific card stock about 5-6 years ago. They carry the Wausau Exact Index card stock in most stores now - at least in the Calgary area. Only problem is I believe they are only carrying the 65lb & 80lb weights. I have bought the 110lb reams at Office Depot. The Wausau 110lb isn't as stiff as the GP (I have a couple sheets of GP left from back then), but the Wausau is whiter - the GP seems to be a little greyish.
If you go to Where to Buy - Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers you can type in your zip and find out where to buy the GP cardstock that is closest to you. For me it always used to give a list of Walmarts and Sam's Clubs - now it only lists 2 Sam's Clubs and I haven't been able to find it at Walmart in awhile
Do you suppose WalMart is not going to carry this cardstock anymore? It seems like maybe those that are still finding it in their stores are seeing the remaining stock.
Why does WM do this kind of stuff? Is there any way we can find out for sure if they are not going to carry it and issue some sort of complaint to WM? I know a lot of stampers use this cardstock. It probably would not do any good. I know they really don't care about their customers concerns. Our 2 Walmarts (the only two in a 60 mile radius) decided to get rid of their fabric departments. People complained and even signed a petition. Nope, they weren't about to change their mind. Even moved both stores to larger locations, but still no fabric sections!
As of two weeks ago, the Waukesha WI Walmart still had the GP cardstock. However, this store is closing Nov. 2 and a new store on the other side of town is opening, and this has me concerned. Maybe the new store won't have this cardstock? I sure hope that's not the case.
I have not been able to find any 110 lb. white cardstock at Walmart in Winnipeg for a couple of years now.I either go to STaples or Office Depot.

all the ladies were right - canadian walmarts don't carry GP110. I'm lucky to live on the border so I got mine from US. I also used CS from Staples before - it's ok, but still like GP 110 better.

I have had great sucess with this kind:
Wausau Paper Card Stock, Bright White, Letter, 250 Sheets
It is in some office stores, or you can get it at Walmart.com. I like the fact that you can order anything at Walmart.com and have it shipped to your local Walmart for free. I use it a lot, for odd things that I can't find the right model for and such. The have one million items on Walmart.com.

I love the stuff, but like many others, it has become a hit-and-miss proposition when looking for it. Last time I found it, I bought 10 reams. Truly, though, I don't know if it's better than watercolor paper; it's just so cheap!
