Fixed my white Signo pen
My white Signo pen stopped working and I was pretty upset. I did a search and found out that this is quite a common problem.
I tried all the tricks and nothing... so figuring that I had nothing to loose, I took the pen apart. Then I took my needle nose pliers and pulled the tip off of the ink barrel (in my pen this part is orange plastic). It was a little messy since some of the ink came out, and now I have white dots on my legs. Anyway, I took the tip to my sink and ran it under warm watter until the water was clear, I kept shaking the tip and putting it under the water again.
I dried it with a towel and put it back in the ink barrel. I put the pen back together and gave it a couple of hard downward shakes and started doodling on my fingers and scrap paper. Eventually it worked and I was able to write with it.
I don't know how long it will work, but at leas I was able to use it. I hope this helps somebody having trouble with theirs!

While we're on the subject... do you want to know which of my 3 pens works the best? The one I carry in my purse! I guess it gets shaken and stirred enough to keep the flow even (I'm not always gentle with my purses).
Wierd, huh?

Mine stopped working so I threw it out. Wish I had been daring. Certain pens, I believe sharpie metallics, need to be stored vertically, point down. Wonder if this would work with Signo. I bought two Inkssentials white opaque pens and now store them vertically point down. Will see if this works well in the days to come. So far, so good. I really liked the Signo.
Darn...sounds like you should have taken pictures. That would have made for a great tutorial. Glad that you were able to fix your pen and get it working again. ;)

I've had my Signo pen for at least 2 years and it has never given me even a second's worth of trouble. Which I am actually surprised at since I have always had horrible luck with other gel pens in the past. Of course mine doesn't see a whole lot of use - although I am finding more and more projects for it lately. I do store mine in a cup with the tip side down, so maybe that keeps the ball point from drying out? Good to know that if does stop working though that it can be taken apart. I tend to do that too. If something is not working, I try to fix it. If I destroy it, oh well, it wasn't working anyway.
This past weekend, I saw someone take it out of the barrel and blow on the end. It started working again for her. Luckily, mine works without the extra trick but I'll keep these in mind for when it doesn't.

I had a Signo and ended up throwing it out also, it never worked right. I bought an Inkssentials and don't have any problems with it, I even store it on it's side in a drawer

I have had my pen for a couple of years and hardly ever use it. It won't work half the time. I'm luck if I get a white line that is 1/16 inch long. I've tried drawing circles on dark paper (so I can see when it starts flowing) but I don't need to bother. It never does. All I get are grooves in my paper that could pass for crop circles. Ha! I've tried taking it apart but it is really tight. I didn't want to force it thinking that maybe it wasn't made to come apart.l Now that I know it should separate, I'll be more forceful and see if I can fix it. Thanks for the info.

IT WORKS NOW!!!!! I did what Carmen suggested about taking it apart. I had to shake it several times after putting it back together but it works better than it ever did. TFS the instructions.
