Default Embssing powders: Best brand, colors?

Is there a difference? I am new and have been buying SU but think I liked what we used in class better - the SU black doesn't seem to puff up as much as it heats. Not sure if it is just me doing it wrong.

I was looking into the scented EPs which look so fun but I really like the raised "puff" of EPs and want the best. Any recs or tips?

Also what are your most used EPs and glitters?
Thanks

I have oodles of embossing powders from every company imaginable. When I started using SU - I found they were superior in coverage so I have pretty much used them exclusively. Maybe the black you used was a detail powder. I find the regular EP works better if it isn't a detailed design.

I think using Versamark as the base ink works the best. I was told by a LSS years ago that using a Craft (pigment ink) Black as a base for gold EP gave a richer color.

My most used EP are black, copper, gold, silver, clear and white.

Glitter? I love SUs Dazzling Diamonds and Sivler Shine.

I love Ranger Embossing Tinsel, particularly nice on holiday cards. I've seen it in gold, silver, red, green and snowflake. I feel a little cheated if my card isn't sparkley in some way.

One of my all time favorite embossing powders is Egyptian Gold by Judikins. It is just so sparkly and pretty. I tried a bunch of different gold colored EPs and nothing, as far as I'm concerned, compares with Egyptian Gold. HTH
