Question Double Stick Tape/ Acrylic Blocks

Hi...

Can someone please tell me if double stick tape can be pulled off of acrylic blocks after each use. If so, does the tape leave a sticky residue behind?

The best double stick tape to use is Scotch Poster Tape #109...I get mine at Wal Mart...but its available in office supply stores too...Its the tape that Phil the owner of Red Castle Rubber Stamps recommends...I have been using it for 10 years now...peels off the block when it loses its stickyness...I have used regular double stick tape in a pinch...but have to wash off the residue it leaves behind...
hugs, Debbie

What dept in WalMart do you find the poster tape in. I've looked and can't find it. Thanks!

You can extend the life of the Poster Tape by running water over it (it'll still be on the block). When dry, the stick will return...same thing works for just about all tapes.

I always use regular double-stick tape. After a while the acrylic blocks will need cleaning. I just scrub them with my fingernail brush. They come out all sparkly again.

I also use regular double stick with some of my UM, like Garnet said they get a little sticky but it washes off fine.

I also use regular double stick tape and just leave it on my blocks until it gets all dirty. I've found it usually doesn't leave behind that much residue. If you want to get it off after every use though, I'd suggest sticking it to your shirt or skin first as it's very sticky and you'll have to scrape to get it off. HTH!

I used little alcohol wipes to clean the sticky residue off of my blocks and scissors. HTH.

The tape is REMOVEABLE Poster Tape and it has red packaging. You can find it at Michael's and other craft stores as well.

Thanks everyone for posting! It sounds like double stick tape is an easy, effective and inexpensive way to mount... I like that! I'll look for some this week!

I use the double stick tape from Family Dollar, works just fine!! and it's only $1 and it doesn't leave any residue. I only change my tape when it loses it's stickiness, which takes quite a while.
