Does anyone have template for the Target mailboxes
I need to whip these out this week before I return to work on the 7th. I am having carpal tunnel surgery end of Jan which makes doing things such as these very difficult for about a month. I am so excited to have scored some of these, I wanted to buy more. My inner self said-save some for other SCS people so I left more than I bought! If anyone has a template and would share I sure would appreciate it-I am worried about the curved ends more than anything!

I dont have one, sorry:(
I have only made 1 of them and I just measured the length of the mailbox with a regular ruler and cut that part and wrapped it around and marked where to cut for the sides and cut there, kwim?
Sorry I cant be of more help, maybe someone else has actually written down the measurements but I would be afraid that they are all different sizes, kwim? since they are making them at different times of the year in different colors, or is that a silly thought?
I take a piece of Designer Paper 12" x 4" and lay it on the mailbox. On the side that has the flag, using a pencil make a circle where the screw is. Using a 1/2" punch, make a hole and cut in from the edge so it will slide under the flag. Then I use my ATG tape dispenser (or glue stick would work) and fasten the two ends of the paper together on the bottom of the mailbox. For the ends of the mailbox, I just turn it and trace around the edge and then cut out two--one for each end. If you have a problem with my instructions, just PM me.
i just bought five tin mailboxes from Target a few days ago. I have one pink, two reds and two whites ones.. they are so cute! I didn't have a chance to get some last year. Sold out so fast!!!
Yeah i will look out for this thread for the template. i would love to get started with that soon before valentine's day.
My mom and sister made it to Target today and was able to purchase enough of the mailboxes for my daughter's class. We're going to have a blast come Valentine's day. I was THOROUGHLY surprised that there were some left.
[QUOTE=suzyqok;8158660]I need to whip these out this week before I return to work on the 7th. I am having carpal tunnel surgery end of Jan which makes doing things such as these very difficult for about a month.
I just had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands--Oct. 23 for my right (dominant) hand, Dec.13 for the left. Both surgeries were "open" --not arthroscopic--because my wrists were too messed up. If you do some prep work on your projects ahead of time, you can do some finishing and small things pretty well. You won't have much strength in your wrists for at least 6-8 weeks or so, but the flexibility and range of motion come back pretty quickly. I could use my paper trimmer with no problem, stamping was OK, but forget about cutting anything with a scissors. Good luck!
