Default Do you have a souffle pen?

I have not been very good at using the specialty pens I have, but I am thinking of getting souffle pens. How do you use yours and do you like it?

Default Crystal effects substitute?

Just wondering if there is a product out there similar to crystal effects? Maybe in Michaels or AC Moore? Any feedback would be so appreciated. Thanks, Mea

Yep. Lots of options at Mike's. It will be called something different than Crystal Effects, but if you read the label it will do the same thing. Cheaper, too. Liquid and they have a spray that I've used from them.

Default scalloped punches question...

Can someone please tell me if the giga and mega sized scalloped oval punches from Marvy Uchida layer properly over each other? Thanks

I was thinking about getting the Souffle pens, but went with the Glaze instead. I did a post and everyone said they liked both but if you were to get only one the Glaze was the one to get. I haven't used them yet, hopefully today! I did test them on scrap paper and they seem to be nice.

Yep, different names, same product...Aleene's Paper Glaze is one you can get at Michaels. I believe there is also one called Diamond Glaze, not sure though if Michael's carries it. There are several on the market, but these are the only two I can remember off the top of my head.

I have read on several posts that the scalloped mega and giga ovals do indeed layer but the mega (regular) oval is NOT have the same proportions as the scalloped oval.

TAC carries one called Crystal Lacquer that I think is the same kind of thing. I've seen it in stores, but I can't remember where....

I have the souffle pens and prefer the glaze pens- but they do different things. Souffle pens look wonderful on dark cardstock- they really pop from the page, and look incredible, even on black.

However, they have a very dull look to them- maybe dull isn't the right word-a matte, look to them, and for that I don't use them much.

I use Aleen's paper glaze from Mike's instead of CE. Just as good. Haven't seen diamond glaze. I wonder what that is.

WOW me too!

The scallop punches do fit inside each other- if you like that much scallop- I personally like plain round inside.

I prefer glaze to soufle, but Skittl is right- soufle is great on dark colors and glaze won't work as well. My one warning- draw slowly to get maximum flow.

ACMoore ans Mike's have alternatives to Crystal Effects- can't see a difference in the look.

Is this about punches? Or pens? Or crystal effects?
