Question Do Plastic CD Cases Harm Clear Stamps?

I recently read somewhere that storing your clear stamps in plastic CD cases harms the stamps. I don't remember where I read it, but now I am alarmed. I own a couple of Papertrey sets and some Sweet & Sassy Stamps sets and they are all stored in plastic CD cases. Should I take these stamps out of the CD cases and store them some other way? If so, how should I store them? Thank you to anybody & everybody who might have input for me!

subscribing, you would think it wouldn't be a problem since some companies sell you clear stamps in the CD cases??

I wondered the same thing so I emailed Stewart Superior, who makes alot of the clear stamps for different companies and got this response (I have heard that Inkadinkado uses silicone rather than photopolymer):

Thank you for contacting us. At this time I am unaware of any problems with storing the clear stamps in CD or DVD cases. In fact, I believe several companies actually package their stamps that way.

There may be some issues with storing the clear stamps that are manufactured with silicone rather than photopolymer. It seems that the silicone clear stamps lose their adhesion qualities over time.

I have noticed that the silicone stamps usually will not stick back onto the clear backing once they've been removed. So it could be the same issue when trying to store them on CD cases.

I hope that answers your questions and please feel free to contact us at any time with questions on clear stamps or inks.

Best regards,

I have had some problems with my clear stamps sticking to the cd cases.. I ripped a couple apart trying to get them off... It does not bother me enough to find another storage system as I have about 200 sets stored this way...

The only thing I've heard that causes a bad reaction is using EZ-mount and acetate...I've never heard that clear stamps are harmed by plastic or acetate...

I have heard that clear stamps can have a bad "reaction" to acetate and other plastics and it's advised you store them on the carrier sheet they come on. Maybe you can trim the carrier sheet to fit inside the CD case and then glue the sheet to the inside of the case?
