Yes, Yes, Yes! One of my favorite purchases :-) really very versatile! Pick a shape and then order!
I use mine with the Cuttlebug and have great results. Don't forget to order the tan mats when you order - you need them if you want to emboss the die cut.
PS 7 Kids online store has a great price (click it go check it out!) AND has all the new CHA release Nestie's available as pre-order, plus all the regulars. I've made many happy purchases there. They're made by Spellbinders, that's how they're listed in the inventory, and then Nestabilities.

You are such a refreshing bunch of knowledge today! I DID NOT know that you could use them with the CB!
Now I have to wait until after convention to get some!!!!!
Thanks, once again for informing me of this!

Thanks! Yes, you can use it with CB, quite easily and I get good results.
The sandwich for cutting with the nestie is (bottom to top):
A plate, C plate (c is for cutting!), the nestie, cardstock/paper and the B plate.
Then to emboss .... slide the CS/nestie off the C plate and onto a B plate.
To emboss the sandwich is:
A plate, B plate, nestie, CS/paper, the tan embossing mat from spellbinders, B plate and I like to use two pieces of heavier cardstock - its just a little lighter than chipboard to shim (i.e. the brown stuff that's used on cereal boxes or within a paper pack to help keep them straight).
So ... the cutting and embossing are two separate steps.
I know of a few group that share a CB. Three girls or so purchase one and rotate it like a custody agreement. They work together and can easily trade it off- BUT that way they each purchase nestabilities and embossing folders and end up with lots to choose from because the cost is split!
Shame on all of you! I got the cuttlebug today. Even with a coupon at ACM, it was cheaper at Walmart. $49 at my Walmart.
{hangs head in shame}
But YAY! now you gotta go emboss! or die cut :-) or both!!!!! I love the embossing folders .... I wasn't a big fan of die-cutting until I got my Nesties!
This is OT but do you know if 7kids' cuttlebug folders that just came out are available now? It still says preorder on the site, but it says 'shipping in late July' so does that mean they are shipping now?
I think she expects them any day now ... I'm sure if you email her she'll be happy to get a response back to you. ***And, if I followed the news right - I think its the generalized ones (like the houndstooth and the bird in the marsh), I believe the Halloween ones ship from ProvoCraft after that, and then the Christmas ones. ***I might be wrong about that, on second thoughts - I'd say definitely email 7 Kids"
YES! Somewhere on here .. there is a great thread with all the CB sandwiches (combination of plates, die, CS) to use. I think I have it bookmarked, BRB.
yes you do need it ,, if you listen to your wrong side of brain saying you dont, you still need them i htink i need 1 more set to complete my sets..
lss always has a great sale on everything i go and grab them..
you need it yes you do yes you do....
For those of you considering your first Nesties purchases....try www.ucutathome.com! If you register for the VIP coupon (FREE) you can get 40% off of a single Nesties purchase each month. Most of the sets are $20-25 each or $75 for an entire shape set (4 sm sets)...but with the coupon at ucutathome you can get the entire set for $57 SHIPPED. This is a great way to build your collection...I guarantee once you buy one little set you will wish you had the rest to go with it! And this way you are limited to one set per month so you are on a forced budget...LOL!
I do know the circles were backed up for a long time and may still be behind, but my rectangles were shipped almost immediately last week.

Does Creative Express still have the $35 special on the Bug? That's why I finally broke down and bought mine. There was another place that had it for $35, but no free shipping. I'm sure someone will know!

Regarding shape... I started with ovals as I use that shape a lot. Then I went to rectangles.
I'm not the biggest nesties fan. Maybe I just need to play more with them, but they are way more complicated than punches.... but easier to store.
I probably haven't helped much.

I own the Cuttlebug...yes, you do have to get them!!!
I just bought the complete set of Classic ovals set (this includes the scalloped ovals) from ucutathome.com with the 40% off discount. If you don't mind waiting at least 4 weeks or more (their shipments come by boat and they don't know what has been shipped so they are backordered from the month before). They do have excellent customer service (Marcie or Anna). They take the 40% off from the retail price ($84.99) and not from ucutathome price ($76.99) + shipping of $6 or $9 (I think) depending on how many sets you order. I am talking the complete set of nesties.
BUT, I found that cutterscreek.com has a better deal at $54.99 for a complete set of nesties - this saves you $2 and they offer free shipping on orders over $10. They nestabilities at cutterscreek might be on pre-order right now, but worth saving a dollar or two.
BTW: If you want to save on buying the tan mat used for embossing...I posted this question in the General Stamping forum. Someone suggested using red rubber sheets (size 6x6 - a type of plumber's gasket found in the plumbing section) you can get from your local hardware store. I bought mine at HD for $4 (2 in a package). Here is the sandwich stack I used with my Cuttlebug:
Plate A
Plate B
Nestabilities die cut
2-3 cardstock pieces cut to size
red rubber sheet
Plate B
Run through CB back and forth to get a deep impression. Worked like a charm!
I highly recommend using both and looking at the finished product . In my many many uses of both I like them for different reasons . CB has that cool handle that I
just love and it just glides through , but I can put any thing through that wizard and I know it will not break . I have found the mat formula to be allot easier for me to remember on the wizard
white cut plate to cut tan pad to emboss and that is it . just two times through the wizard and presto you are on to embellishing . there are so many other things you can use it for , setting eyelets , photo tranfers , crushing flowers ,
the possibilities are endless .
