Default Die cut boxes that will hold gift cards

I was disppointed to learn that the SU Matchbox die and the Bitty Box & Envelope die are not large enough to hold a gift card (standard size gc is 3 3/8" x 2 1/8"). Anybody know of a company who makes something similar to the SU dies but large enough to stick a gift card in?

I don't know but I am subscribing. When I bought the pillow box die that is one of the things I was planning on doing with it too but was disappointed. Can't wait to find out what will work;)

There is a new SU-exclusive Bigz XL die in the latest catalog made especially for gift cards. It makes a pop-up card that will hold a GC. (I was also disappointed that earlier dies can't hold a GC without fiddling.)

The new Bigz XL die is called Stampin' Up Pop-Up Look Here and sells for $42.95.

Also, you can cut the Stampin' Up Scallop Envelope in a way that will accommodate a gift card. Here's the blog with a video:

Thanks for pointing that out to me! I saw that in the catty but didn't "see" it! That'll work for what I want. I'm sure my SU demo is thankful to you, too!! SOLD!

Default Top Note Box

This is not strictly a die-cut box, but it's made from the Top Note die. I made one at an SU downline event that I attended. It was a little too small for a gift card. So I played around and tweaked the measurements. It's pretty easy to put together with some simple scoring. Here's a link to the tutorial.

I made several as I got on a kick with these, you can find several examples if you poke around a bit (or check the Big Shot category). Make them with chipboard for a masculine look, too!

You're welcome for the info. I love boxes & stuff so I collect the links people post.

Lisa, the TN box is really cute -- and useful. Thanks!

What a great idea! Thanks so much! I have been wanting that Top Note die for so long and now this seals the deal. That is a beautiful box. I appreciate you sharing with me.

Hi! Yes, I love to use my scallop envelope for the gift cards by expanding it.

Also, the "Look here" die is specifically made for gift cards.

All of our anguish and difficulties could have been avoided if SU simply had put the measurements of the finished boxes into the catalogs and/or on their Web site.

In the mean time, I used this gift card holder from our own Resources section and it worked fine. Gift Card Holder Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
