Oh, Betsy!!! I have both the Big Shot AND the Cuttlebug, and am wild about 'em both! They are awesome machines!

I'm STILL debating which to keep! I've been agonizing!!!

At any rate, so glad you got one and you are lovin' it!

I KNOW!!!!
Just got mine this morning. When I stop playing long enough to take a pic I'll post it. What's your favorite folder? I'm making some birthday ones now but I love the stitched squares & the cats!

Lisa, are you finding that the edges of the stitched squares folder get embossed onto the card front? I've got that same folder on my wish list, but if I have to trim it out in order to put it onto a card, well . . . I'd really rather not have to do that, cuz I'm so into no layer cards . . .

What do you think? What are your impressions? (bwah haaaaa, OK, but I'm serious!)

Can anyone give a compare/contrast between the Big Shot, the cuttlebug, the cricut and/or maybe Spellbinders' Wizard? TIA (saw a youtube infomercial on the cuttlebug and it looks WAY interesting!)

Go to the Cuttlebug/Cuttlebugitis and there is tons of comparisons of the Big Shot and Cuttlebug. Cricut is an electronic machine. Go to www.provocraft.com and there you find info on Cricut and the Cuttlebug. HTH.

LOL! Yes, I noticed the same thing! I also got the cat embossing folders and it's happening with them too. I think it's just because the folders are small and if the cs overlaps the sides at all...you get the picture. Or should I say the impression.
I'm having WAY too much fun to let that bother me right now!

I am far from home. I am 800 miles from the card:(. We were staying home for Thanksgiving but unexpectedly decided to go from Michigan to Arkansas to see my family.

Here's a brief comparison among the 3 machines you mentioned, but the Wizard is not included:

All these posts about the Cuttlebug are just killin' me. I picked one up at Joann's the other day, only to get home and discover that the cutting pads were missing! So I haven't even got to try it out yet. It has been somewhat of a pain trying to get either Joann's or ProvoCraft to send them to me. I finally talked to someone at ProvoCraft and they promised to send them. UGH! It must be Murphy's Law or something. I always pick the bad box!

Hey, mine were missing too. I just went back to Jo's and had them snag them from another box!

Cute, cute cards!! (pouting now), but my Joann's didn't have one and neither did the HL, tried to order online from J's, but they are out of stock. Ended up ordering from Scrapbook 101,but won't ship until the first week of December, wwwaaaaahhhhh! You lucky ducks who have one, please keep posting, so at least I can be inspired and even if I AM drooling at each and every card when I FINALLY get mine I will know exactly where to start and what to make!!!!!! One more request - I am hoping everybody is using the term Cuttlebug as you upload, so the rest of us can search and find them easily!

Okay, here's another one. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Question - my top cutting pad looks like it's starting to bow a little. Should I just turn it over or am I doing something wrong?

I just hope when they have to pull them from one box that they don't put that box back on the shelf for the next unsuspecting crafter. Aaack. I'm trying so hard to resist the temptation but I'm weakening fast. Oh you enablers you!!

I got one today, too! It was such a great deal at half price! I can't wait to try it out. I'll have to go check it and make sure the cutting pads aren't missing like others have had. Yikes!

Thanks! I have those on order, too! Patience, patience.....I didn't realize when I ordered them that it was a "pre-order" situation, so they won't get here for a while...<pout>.

Question - my top cutting pad looks like it's starting to bow a little. Should I just turn it over or am I doing something wrong?
Mine is bowing also! Not sure what to do. I switched it to the bottom and the nice clean one to the top. I got another set of plates at M's with the 25% off your order coupon.
But I am not sure at what point it is best to throw the plates away. Hum?

The bowing is normal. ;)

When you no longer get a clean cut on the plate, time to turn it over and use the other side. When you can't get a clean cut on that side, THEN, it's time to switch it to the bottom, and use the other plate. Again, flipping to use the other side until it no longer provides a clean cut. At that point, you can throw it away and replace it with a new one.

You should be able to get quite a bit of mileage out of these plates.

I just got my CB for half price as well. As soon as I get off here, I am going to go play with mine. I got the last one at Michaels today. Yesterday when I was there, they had three empty boxes and no CB's. I called them today and they found one in the display section behind locked doors so they put my name on it and I was there within ten minutes picking it up. Now to have some fun.

I got my Cuttlebug yesterday with some dies and had to go back to get an alpha and more dies today. The best thing is the embossing--It is so beautiful! I am really happy about this little thingy--glad I waited to buy a di cutter until this was available--It's Awesome. I will upload some cards when I get a chance as well.
