Default Cuttlebug and SU! dies

I've already got a Cuttlebug and am loathe to buy another die cutter just because the brand is different...can anyone tell me if the SU! dies (the thin ones and the thick ones, especially the long thick ones) work well in a Cuttlebug??

I posted on the Cuddlebug thread basically the same question! I want to get one of the texturz plates. I was wondering if they made a good impression - now it looks like I may have to get some of the SU plates and the silicone mat. I think I need some help with this as I'm not sure what exactly I need, etc.......

Can you use the SU dies in your Cuttlebug? Yes, you can. They are made by Sizzix. So follow the 'sandwich" for Sizzix dies. HERE is a great site with videos. And ANOTHER great site

As for XL ones you have to do some creative sandwiching since the XL dies fit but not the cover plate. So you need someone to either cut it down, or make your own or play with the other plates. I had my dad make something for me that works.

Oh and with the texture plates, I haven't used the SU ones but have been given some Fiskars ones and they work just fine in the Bug and I don't do anything special with them. So, yes, buy and try. I am going to be purchasing the Build A Bear dies in a couple weeks and can't wait to play with them.

I've used the texture plates and they work fine....also a die, can't remember which one, but it worked fine also. The big I'm not sure if the long, thick ones work. I'm with you...I won't buy another machine. If it doesn't work in the bug...I'll live without it!!!

I checked out the video on how to use the Sizzlits in my CB, and it said to use the A plate and the 2 B Plates, however, by sizzlit still isn't cutting all the way through.....

Is there something else I should be doing, or is there something wrong with my die cut?

Thanks for any help!

I am using the snowflake sizzlits, and I think they might just be harder to pop out of the paper than most.....I ripped one, but the other one came out okay.

I tried adding an extra piece of cardstock underneath the dies and that seemed to help. Just wish it was more straight forward....

I ordered one of the SU texturz plates along with the SU black impressions plate and it worked great! The sandwich I used was A plate, SU Texturz plate (Fine Details)-with the side I wanted to use facing up, Cardstock, Tan Mat, and SU black impressions pad.
I've also used the Little Leaves from SU in the CB and it popped out fine.

That is what I have found---just keep playing with the shims. I seriously think I will end up with a Wizard, a Cuttlebug and the Sizzix machine because I get tired of playing with all the shims. For now, I just keep playing and getting annoyed but I see two other machines coming to live with my Bug at my house. ;)

That's the way I feel! If my Bug can't do it, I don't need it! I'm space challenged and love its small footprint. I used to put it away, then found that doing that was a waste of time, as 100% of my project required CB intervention.

Ditto.... I love my bug and all the things I can do with it. If I can't do it with my bug I can live without it. Space challenge is one issue but it also does not make financial sense to me to keep spending on all the stuffing gadgets. I have spent so much money on stamping and scrapping stuff (stuff in inclusive of tools, papers, everything) that I would hate to know how much money is sitting in my craft room.
