That's exactly what happened to me yesterday!!! Enjoy it! ;)
The funny part is I totally forgot about the sale as soon as I posted that. I was just going through my subscribed threads and saw the title again and thought, "Oh yeah...." LOL. This is (sadly) how my mind works!
Yup! Website and store have different sales. Get yours if you can! I tried to buy one yesterday and they were already sold out. Special order (which I placed!) and 2-3 weeks wait. Sigh.....

Oh well, probably won't happen. The nearest store is 45 mins away and we're in a sort of lock down due to a winter weather warning until Saturday. The earliest I could make the drive would be Tuesday and by then the sale will be over. It was a nice thought while it lasted though!
I drove an hour out of my way to go to the local "super" Joann's (or whatever it's called) and they were COMPLETELY out of all the embossing plates. I was not happy. I stopped at the other local one yesterday and got the last two plates they had. You'd think they'd forsee this and stock accordingly. Unfortunately, I fell into their trap...went for the cheap cuttlebug plates and came home with $50 in other stuff and no plates. Grrrr.
I live an hour away from Joann's so I made sure to call before I headed down. When I called they had 3 left and when my mom and I got there we bought two and another lady was buying the last one. They also kept all the dies under one of the registers. I also noticed that not all of the cashiers new what I was talking about.
I also went to Joann's to get the cuttlebug....all gone!! So they special ordered it for me. I have seen cards on SCS using the CB and had to have one. But since I don't have it yet...I am wondering..will I use it much? Or is it something that will take up space? I see on these threads everyone saying breaking plates? How easy is it to use? questions questions. lol Also the marvy scalloped circle and oval punches...sigh...can't find them. They are even currently unavailable on amazon.com!! Can you believe it?
I got my Bug with my M's 50% off coupon but went to Joanns for the supplies last week. I was mainly looking for the embossing stuff. They only had them at the Super Store...and yes...both stores that I went to were out of everything. I wrote down all the sku #s and ordered the folders at the 40% off price. They were very sweet about it. It made my 40 minute drive well worth the effort! Can't wait until they come in!
There is a site that shows you how to use a rolling pin with the cuttlebug embossing folders. :-) I have a Wizard and use that, but I think if I didn't have it I would try the rolling pin. They are having problems with the plate used with the dies. It breaks often.
JMO
LOL!! I'm on my way right now! I saw the sale during the week, and it is good through March 10, by my Joann's was out of them. They said they would be getting more in yesterday, so I hope I'm not too late! They won't give a rain check.:(

I am fairly new to stamping and don't have a lot of gadgets. I love, love the Cuttlebug and use the embossing folders constantly. You will love them, I think.
I have read lots of threads about the CB, and most of the time when people talk about breaking the plates, I think they are trying to use it with other dies from other systems and don't get the layering quite right.
I am not very adventuresome and just use the embossing folders and dies from Cuttlebug and have had no problems whatsoever with the plates.
