I haven't seen this question posted before (or I missed it).
I just bought some embossing folders today. I thought one of them would be very pretty embossed in vellum. I wondered if anyone has tried this yet, and if so, was it successful. I don't want to invest in a pack of very expenseive vellum if the embossing folders won't work with it.
Yes, I have embossed vellum with the CB folders before, many times. I'm sorry I don't have any samples to show you, but it does work. However, you'll want to emboss with vellum card stock, and NOT vellum paper. There is a difference (SU! sells the card stock), as the card stock is a little bit thicker and less prone to tearing.
Mary Ann, thanks for linking your sample. The textile folder is the exact one I was thinking about for embossing.
Hi Lisa. Yes, things are starting to improve and I'm finally (after many months) feeling well enough to stamp again. Thanks for the advice on the vellum cardstock over the paper.

That's wonderful! Good for you. I'm so happy for you!

I had, some time ago, tried embossing thin vellum and it tore through in several spots. Did some experimenting and found that if I added a layer of plain copy paper it worked fine.

The cards are beautiful! I am glad I read this because I had tried to emboss vellum and it tore in a few spots. I just gave up and didn't think about it again...................until now.
I just got a Halloween card that had a spider web embossed on it (CB folder - I don't know the title) embossed on BLACK vellum and it was awesome!!!!! The effect is great. I don't have any black vellum. Or that embossing folder.
