Default Cuttlebug or Big Shot?

Ok...you gals are so good about enabling others! ;) I have seen so many cards with the embossing and I can't help but wondering if I need one. So cuttlebug or Big shot, which one and why? can the plates for each be used with the other?
Thanks!

After reading Julie's blog, and after reading this SCS thread and this other SCS thread, I decided to order the Big Kick made by Sizzix. The only manufacturing difference between the Big Kick and the Big Shot is the color of the machines.

Currently, the best deal on the Big Kick can be found at Costco.com. You can use Cuttlebug, Sizzix and Ellison products in the Big Kick.

Hope this helps.

They all do the same thing. The Big Shot and Big Kick seem sturdier to me.

I went with the BigShot...in great part due to JulieHRR's comparison of them. I really love my BigShot...the cuttlebug embossing folders work great in it!
