Since I am here I thought I would ask a question about CTMH. If you are a consultant for them do they have a problem with you being on other companies design teams?
This question was asked on the boards. Someone called corporate and was told "NO, they cannot be on another company design team". I thought lots of SU dems are on other company design teams. So I am not sure what the deal is???

Thanks, I have been on the fence about becoming a consultant and now I am not so sure I am going to do it if that is the case.
That is intersting-I missed the quota by a few dollars-my mistake-but it dropped me to jr consultant and I am on a creative team for Bouquet of Pixels-so will have to check that out! I save so little by being a consultant that...but I do like the acrylic stamps better! I can see where I am stamping

I have not heard that either? Not that I'm on another design team but just curious...I'll have to check out the consultant guide...;)

My demo called the company and was told you are not allowed to be on design teams and that it is considered a conflict of interest. However, you are allowed to work at scrapbook stores, go figure. I sent an email outlining the reasons why it would probably benefit them to have design team members as consultants and asking them if they had any plans to rescind their policy. My reply to this was that they had no intention of rescinding the policy and the person answering my email had forwarded my message to the higher ups for consideration.
that is ridiculous. I WAS on a design team. I had to let it go cause I had other obligations but I was also a ctmh consultant. Neither ever conflicted. I didnt use the store stuff during my demos and I didnt use CTMH stuff in the stuff i turned into the store.

"Competitive Selling
Close To My Heart Consultants may not sell or market any competing non-Close To My Heart products or services, including any in the same generic category as a Close To My Heart product or service (i.e., stamps and scrapbook supplies), even if differing in cost, quality, artistic impression, or format. so-since CTMH isnt digital-a person could be on a creative team digitally

I think "format" might include digi's though. A digital stamp is just a different format of rubber stamps - I think? I wish they would just relax the rules a bit.
OH my... made the 4 12x12 pages in the Tickled Pink pack and they took HOURS. LOL SO much stamping and building flowers... they turned out super cute, but these pasges are NOT for the beginner stamper!

I looked in your gallery but don't see them posted? I like the saying in the stamp set!

What are the quotas and the discount associated with consultant and Jr. Consultant for CTMH and can you stay a jr. consultant always?
Consultants must sell $300/quarter. They receive 22% discount.
Jr Consultants can stay a jr always. If they remain inactive, they will drop from under their upline to be placed under corporate. A jr consultant receives a 10% discount. At any point that a jr consultant places a $300 order in a quarter, they will bump back up to regular consultant.
There is currently a "rule" in place that you remain a consultant until you actually resign from the company.

Does that help answer your questions?
Yes it does absolutely!!!!!
Thanks,
ps I think you know my friend MACLAYBURN
The idea of actually seeing where you image is going to stamp is great. I love the idea, that if you spend so much you can get a set for free. Just the way the CTMH company does things is great. Paper, ink, stamps, prices are all great.
here is another CTMH consultant who loves her product. The clear Acrylic stamps are what sold me on CTMH.
i have just sent off my first party order from the new autumn/winter idea book and my stuff comes in tomorrow! They were very fast at sending my stuff.
I am hoping to have a stamp camp in October, where we will make 50 cards in 2 hours!
Oh by the way, my name is Suzanne and i live in Tennessee.
My friend is looking at joining CTMH. I know with SU you can switch sets/inks on the starter kit - can you also switch out items in the CTMH starter kit or do you have to get it as it is? She has some of the items already. She asked her demo but being a weekend has to wait for a few days - thought I could get her an answer here faster.

No, you cannot switch the items at all.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE CTMH! I haven't actually been able to look thru the new catty yet tho. :( Too much 2 do with school, DD, being preggers, and keepin up with my etsy shop.
I am in a CTMH monthly group and I love it!
I really like their markers. They do not fray and get fuzzy like SU's do.
The only thing I really son't like is the cardstock yet for cards. Anyone have any tip s and ideas how I can get past this?
I like the heavier cardstock like SU.
Also - do their inkpads start to sag in the center like SU's? I have a few but they are still pretty new so I have not had any problems yet.
I've had my ink pads for about 3 years now, and no sagging in the middle. Altho, I also dont use them as often as some people, but still, no problems yet.
I dont use the colored cardstock for bases. People who do, and dont' want the white to show thru will run the same colored marker across the top, to blend out the white crease.
I tend to use white cardstock for base, and then our cardstock for layers.

Me too! I've had no issues with my Ink Pads sinking in the middle. I use mine quite a bit for stamping, inking and distressing & I've had no issues.
I was unsure of the cardstock at first but I have been playing the "Featured Stamper" Challenge. Many of them use multiple layers and I've found the CTMH cardstock good for all the layers. I like it for dry embossing, tearing, and especially scrapping!

I've had my ink pads for at least 3 years, if not longer, and use them constantly and I haven't had any sagging yet. As far as the cardstock, I prefer lighter cardstock because I like to layer so I can't give you any tips on that. Sorry! :(
