I have been browsing theese forums but this is my first post. I have recently read about Copic markers on this board and have watched many tutorial videos on You Tube.
While browsing the web, I came across a website called iCopic. They seemed to have really good prices and reasonable shipping. Has anyone ordered from them before? Where I live, Ciaos are about $4 ea and sketches are about $6 each.
After watching the Copic tutorial videos on You Tube, I am coming to the conclusion that getting and playing with theese markers will become very addicting.
Now if only Uncle Sam would send me my darn tax return...arrgh!
Try www.oozak.com. They have great prices, fast shipping and free shipping on orders of $50 and over.
They are so popular that many times a lot of colors are Out of Sotck but they are continualy getting in more shipments.
Do no forget to get a colorless blender. The name "blender" is misleading. It is NOT what we usually think of as a blender pen BUT it DOES help to remove the pigment when you make small mistakes.
Also, the best ink to stamp with seems to be Memento. There are several others but some need to be heat set. ** Also, StazOn bleeds. It does NOT work. I tried because it says "waterproof". I found out that waterproof does NOT apply to alcohol markers! LOL!
I have half a mind to place another order and just get a few (okay, a bunch) more colors that I left behind...I just don't think I'll ever come across prices like this!!! Sorry, I don't mean to gush or go on and on, but I have been COVETING Copics FOREVER....(or for the past year or so) and I've actually just finished registering for a COPIC certification class in March! So YAY for getting to bring my own COPIC markers with me!!! Thanks again for the info!!!!! I am SO EXCITED!
Any suggestions on what a beginner should buy? And given the post that suggested not using Stazon, what should I use? I'm deciding that I might be using more acrylic stamps and more of those seem to be ones to color and I'm thinking these are the way to go..........with a sale like this I may need to get started on obtaining these.
That is what I need a suggested list for someone starting out with Copics. It might help to know our expected subject matter. For me it would be flowers, birds and cutsie stuff from Stampin'Up. I've made a wish list and almost ordered but waited so I could look for such a list. This would be very helpful for a starting out order. Then it would be personal choice and interest. thank you.
