First I see it's your first post so let me give you a big warm welcome!

I personally like the sketch best. They have the color listed on the end which makes it much easier to find the one you're looking for. I also have some Ciaos and original ones and they all color the same.

I use mostly the original. For many of my colors, I switch out the broad tip for the brush tip like on the sketch and ciaos. A lot of it is just preference and budget. The sketch is the most expensive and has the most color selections, then original, and ciao. Have you used them before?

Here is a great thread for more info. Marianne is the Copic guru. She taught the copic certification class that I took.

I have mostly sketch and ciaos, but accidentally purchased an original one online. Now I wish I had bought all originals since I can replace the broad tip with the brush. I love the fine tip for coloring small areas. And the original holds more ink.

Welcome to Splitcoast! There are a TON of folks here with lots to share... you will find it a GREAT place!

I have a Copic FAQ on my blog HERE that explains each style and has some info on picking markers to start with... you might find it helpful.

Hugs!

I opted for the Ciaos bc (a) they are cheaper --- I was able to get two markers for the price of one of the sketch and (b) I like the feel of them better than the oval shape of the sketch.

The only thing I don't like about the ciaos is that they don't have the numbers on the caps.

I have filled in my collection with the Sketch markers since the Ciaos come in more limited colours.

I have both Ciao's and Sketch. For the Ciao's, I printed off a label with the letter / number (arial 8, I believe) then use a regular single hole punch to punch it out. Stick it on the end of the marker and voila, numbers on the end just like the sketch.

Funny thing, is now I find the number of the side of the sketch so small compared to the Ciao. Might have to fix that!

Both types work the same and are refillable. Here in Canada the Ciao's are about half the price of the sketch so I buy what I can in Ciao and fill in with sketch.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the warm welcomes! There really are a lot of wonderful "creators" out there. Also, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for your response. You gave me some great insight and I am on my way to ordering originals!
