I would like to go but do not work in the industry, do not teach others and just love to scrapbook and card making for just myself. As I live in the northwest end of Toronto, I can take the bus and 2 subways and it takes about 1-1/4 hours to 1-1/2 hours each way.
I wonder if there are any spots left and they will let me sign up.
Just email them to see? I emailed Marianne Walker and she emailed me the application, you have to fill out the application and email it back along with 3-5 pictures of your work. I don't teach either, I applied as a craft enthusiast! Let me know how it works out!

Johanna, I believe if there are any spots left two weeks before they do open it up to anyone.

Just to let you know, the Toronto class is open to the public now, and you can register with Marianne if you really want to go.
This is from Marianne's blog.

By the way, Mystic, CT Buffalo, NY Toronto, Ont are all open to the public.
The class will max out at about 45 people split between me and Sherrie Siemens, so each table group (of about 6 people) has plenty of opportunity for personal attention. I pace the class so there's plenty of chances to stop and ask questions.
I still have a few spots open to the public, so if you wanna come now's the time. My Buffalo class will be smaller, so if you want more personal attention come down to Buffalo
also, you don't need to submit photos, it just gives us an idea of the kinds of things you make.
As for Canadian classes, most will be taught by Sherrie Siemens in the future since it's easier for a Canadian to get around Canada. Sherrie's pretty cool and does FABULOUS work!
Other good news. It isn't really in Toronto but Brampton which is a town just west of us. I can drive there myself. If weather not good, then my husband can drive me and pick me up. If it is really terrible, like a major snowstorm, then he can drive me in his 4 wheel drive pick-up.
It is 37 minutes according to Map Quest and that is taking the slow route as I do not drive on the 400 highways (freeways) but the interior routes.
I am really looking forward to it and want to thank you all for your help and encouragement.
Nope. I'm south, in Buffalo. I have a class on monday here then I drive up monday nite. I get to see the falls! Woo Hoo! I've never seen Niagra falls. I'll try not to fall in
When you cross over the bridge at Buffalo into Canada, you don't actually see the Falls. You will need to do a detour off the highway. There will be signs leading you to Niagara Falls!

less than 2 days 'til the Toronto class... are you ready??!!
My bag is packed and I am ready to go... Well, not by plane fortunately. That is a hassle.
There is a route from Buffalo that goes past the falls. You can get a free map in the duty free place and it is a nice drive along the Canadian side. Another way is to drive via Grand Island to Niagara Falls, NY and then along the falls on the American side, cross over at the rainbow bridge and you are in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The first thing you will see is the old casino. The new one is a bit further away.
They are planning a class in Winnipeg. You can get on the email list by going to Marianne's blog.
This is great to know. I will go to Marianne's site and see if I can get on the list, Winnipeg is only a few hours away from me. Maybe DH and I could take a mini vacation there. Thanks for the information.
I'm here! Yeah! Long day of travel but I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow....and if you have markers, bring them along, I found it really helpful to work with the colors I knew I had.

See you all then!
Welcome to Toronto. The GTA (Greater Toronto Area). I guess you must be at the hotel in Brampton. It will be nice to see you.
Yes, I will bring about 10 markers. Also some paper (cardstock) and a couple of ink spots. Memento & Brilliance blacks.
Got back home from the Copic Certification Course before 4:30 p.m. today, leaving there at 4 p.m. The drive there and back took less time than I thought and the course was excellent.
Marianne is a great teacher and we learned so much. It was fantastic.
I definitely recommend it for everyone who has one within driving distance or even make a few days out of it in a city that will have it.
The kit was wonderful and the brochures fantastic as well. So much useful literature with it and charts and colour wheel.
