Default ? of copic blender

Ok, I took the plunge and brought the ciao markers. Love them! My only problem is the blender pen. Now they all came last week and I joined some swaps to get me back into stamping as I was into a creative block and just did not want to stamp. Well I worked on the swap and finish it and started another swap and the blender pen dried up. Is that normal or did I just get a bum marker? If this is how the blender pen works I hope the markers dont go as quickly. Anyone have this problem?

Did you know that the blender pen doesn't really blend as much as it takes ink away? Check out some of the tutorials or blogs to see how you "blend" with copics.

It is called a COLORLESS blender...colorless being the keyword instead of blender.

As already mentioned, it takes away color or blends color to COLORLESS like fading out to nothing on edges. It is clear ink that will push the color away from where it touches.

In fact the blender is the marker I use the least of all of mine!

I think she was wondering about this, not about how it works.
That is most certainly NOT normal--- I would first make sure you have the colorless blender pen (not an empty marker; it may look the same, but I've never gotten one, so I am not sure...), and then I'd contact the company you got it from...

I think the use of the blender pen was brought up because if it is being used on every image covering the whole thing in an attempt to blend all the colors, it would have dried up pretty quick. If it was used sparingly as intended, then you are correct, it shouldn't have dried up so fast.

I have had my blender pen for some time, and I do NOT think yours should have run out. But, I do not use mine all over every image, so maybe it is in how much you are using it?

If you are using it sparingly, I would definitely return it for a new one, or purchase the blender solution refill and top your marker up. Good luck!

I think Cher has the answer to this, so far I have never seen a dry marker from the factory. Either that, or the cap wasn't closed propperly.

i don't think this is normal, that being said the blender solution was the first "re-inker" i bought because for the blender to work optimally it should be juicy.. so i would make a call to where you purchased your markers from.

Thanks for the answers. I only used it to to lighten spots in the image. It was not a big spot at all. I was coloring a owl and lightened his belly which would be a size of a dime if that and by his cheeks to add some pink to it. I think I just got a bad marker. I did order the refill today.

In this case I would probably contact where you bought it...it's possible it was bad...I saw somewhere on Marianne's blog the surface area that each size marker should cover, and if I remember correctly a Caio was like 2 full pages soaked in ink. If you are anything like me though, I probably would have just ordered the refill knowing I would need it anyhow and not deal with the headache of a phone call or emailing.

I did have one marker like that...it was dry after 3 or 4 uses, but it was one in a huge order with freebies, so I didn't bother whining to the company about it.
