I highly recommend getting an inexpensive color wheel at a craft store. It will explain the basics of colors and then you can use the holes to find what color your cardstock is and then use the other holes and arrows to find what colors are complimentary matches.
The color wheel I have also has arrows that make it easy to pick out color triads (3 colors that are equidistant on the wheel) in addition to complimentary (2 colors directly across from each other) and split complementary colors (any color plus the 2 'neighbors' of its complement. Here's a great illustration of what I mean, with a few more color choice methods.
It gave me a lot of confidence when I first started making card because I knew I had use color logic/rules for my color combo's. Funny thing is I got more confident and quit using it which is great but there have been a few times I've had CS that I was having trouble with. Guess I should dig the that wheel out and put it in front of me as a reminder to use the dang thing.
I was brought to splitcoast stampers because of their color challenges; so many available to use. Now that spring is approaching; I'm trying pastel colors.

You pick how many colors you want in your scheme, then click on one of the colors to be included and it will give you the others. Hard to explain, but very fun to play with!

I wish there was a program to tell me if the colors I already picked go together. A rating system, per se. You pick your papers and ink and the program tells you if it works or looks like crap. If it's really good, it will make suggestions for substitutions.

Hi there! I use a lot the My Create Ink - SU Color Lab, but lately whenever I have tried to pull a color combination I have been receiving an ERROR message stating "There is a problem retrieving the data". Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? I cleared my cache, but it still does the same thing.

Me too that is why I came on to see if the site had been shut down and if anyone knew. I love that site myself. I always go there.
