Default Cleaning a Stampin' Scrub

I've been lurker awhile but this is my first post. This place is great for tons info.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but what is the best way to clean my Stampin' Scrub? I ran my hand over it today and -- gross! I'm very picky about keeping my stamps clean and am now worried about staining.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The top of mine says to rinse under tap water and let air dry. I haven't done that yet, but mine is pretty dirty too and could use a cleaning.

I just run mine under water and the ink just washes out. I've heard that they can run through the dishwasher on the top rack, but can't go through the dry cycle. I've never used the dishwasher and mine are still very clean.

Here's a link to a search I did. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I clicked on forums just under the advertisement banner, then typed in Stampin' Scrub Cleaning. It came up with links to check out. I know some don't have anything to do with cleaning the stampin' scrub, but some do. This search technique is great for getting information that might have been talked about.
Welcome to SCS. You're gonna love it here. Try not to get overwhelmed at the amount of information here.

I pop the pads out of the case, run them under warm water till it runs clear, push out the excess water, then stand them on end on top of some paper towels to dry. The paper towels draw out the ink that the water doesn't quite clear. I clean mine almost every time I stamp.

I take the pad out, put a tiny bit of dishwashing soap on it, then run it under the tap and rinse it until all the colour comes out ... then just wipe with a paper towel and pop it back into the case ... leave it sit open overnight (or whatever) and its back to like new!

I normally just rinse it under water one a week or so and I'll throw it in the dishwasher when i've used alot of Fluid Chalk inks - seems to get it cleaner that way.

I pop mine out of the case , fill the sink with warm soapy water and let them soak overnight. Then rinse and smoosh the water out on the side of the sink. After that I dry them on paper towels. When I used to just rinse them they would leave lots of ink on the paper towels as they dried.

The thing to remember is that the scrub when it is really dirty is coated with many layers of Stampin' Mist and ink. Just rinsing only takes off the first couple of layers.

I've found that starting out with a good warm water rinse, then letting the pads sit wet for a while, rinsing again and then repeating this 3 or 4 more times will get rid of all the ink, as the water dissolves all the layers of Mist/ink. I clean them when I have other things to do in my stamp room, so popping back in the laundry room and doing another rinse isn't a big deal. Gail's method of soaking accomplishes the same thing, so you can choose whatever works better.

I just let mine sit open overnight to dry them, but if I want them dry faster, I will put them under my swing arm lamp or dry them with a hair dryer set on low.

I know all of you are going to think I am crazy...I washed mine in the dishwasher one time. Went okay. Now since the washing machine is closer I wash mine in there on the gentle cycle. I have 4 sets and I am lazy so I wait til they are all dirty and wash at bed time. They are generally dry by morning.....It works for me just fine. Good luck.

I throw mine in the washing machine with my towels. They come out great every time.

They also do well in the top shelp of the dishwasher too.

I've put mine in the dishwasher since day 1 (5 years ago) and they are just fine. I put them in there for the entire cycle. Seems to come out cleaner then just running them under the water.

I run mine under warm water, spray with mist, scrub gently with an old toothbrush, then rinse completely again under warm water. I run a plastic scrapper over it to remove the excess water and then let it dry overnight standing on end. One set has kind of curled a bit, so I think I will try what someone esle posted and pop them back into the case and let them dry there.

Smile I run mine under warm water

Then I rub in a little dish soap and use the spray nozzle on my sink until all the soap is gone and the water runs clean. I put in in the dish drainer until it is dry.
