ive just been on papertrey and they say its ok to use Nestabilities in a cuttle bug machine which is great for me as im already saving up for one i was thinking about buying both a wizard and cuttlebug. I now have money to save for the next item on my wish list. Only prob is i dont understand all the different plates you need to use in order to use the Nestabilities in the cuttlebug. Do i neeed to buy extra plates or do they come with the cuttlebug? Could some one please explain this to me as im not sure.

thanks everyone

Default Helpful link

This has an added step - she's showing how to not crop off an odd shaped item, but the pictures are helpful. I ended up using the white plate, a piece of fun foam, and a few sheets of THIN chip board (think cereal box thin) - I just kept adding them until it was perfect. The one before perfect really dented the paper, but didn't cut all the way around- so I don't think you need to worry about hurting the nestability die if you are adding thin enough sheets.

Good Luck!

Sherrie, if you are considering purchasing a new die cut machine my vote would be for the Wizard. It's a universal machine that can use all of the consumer dies on the market. I like it because it is all metal so I don't have to worry about breaking it by trying to run too much through it. Since both the Wizard and Nestabilities are made by Spellbinders, it stands to reason that you are going to get the best results when the two are used together.

Since you already have the original Sizzix, here is a video that will show you how to use your machine with the Nestabilities.

i have a bug and the red sizzix. i use my nesties in the sizzix only ! the only thing you need are special acrylic pads from cropstop.com. a set of 3 squares and the tan mat (maybe can substitue the plumbers gasket?)

the good thing about using the sizzix.....there is NO damage to clear plates like in the bug ! you do need the sizzix converter thingy

recipe from bottom up:
white thick cutting pad that slides thru the sizzix
cardstock/paper to be cut
nestie cutting side down
clear acrylic adaptor square from cropstop

run it thru !! the cutting is on the white thick pad.....
you can also emboss them as well but you need the tan mat.

cropstop has a video on this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2OxI...eature=related

i have also been using it to emboss with the CB folders....now i use the bug for cutting the 2x2 or larger CB dies....they work better in the bug for me

what is the name of the converter on cropstop? I can't find it...I really want it!!! OR how thick is the converter plate itself (the engineer wheels in my head are turning)?

For some reason I can't find the cropstop adapter on the cropstop website either. I don't know, it used to be in the machines/accessories category.

I know Fran at franticstamper.com has a spacer plate. It is $5.99.

Go to this page on the Frantic Stamper website, then scroll down until you see the Universal adapter (sizzix) mat.

i got the sizzix adaptor (its magnetic and fits on the red machine) when i bought my original sizzix. i know the sizzix site has them..... maybe joanns or michaels online has them too...or do a google search.....

to find the acrylic adator needed to use nesties in the sizzix (in addition to the magnetic adaptor) just call haly-jo at cropstop and ask her for the product #. she is delightful and very helpful.....

i use both with my sizzix for the nesties. my sizzix works like a charm for cutting and embossing, hope the revolution works too.....

recently i purchased a revolution machine, but since i knew we would be moving this week to our new home, i never opened it.
