My mom decided she wants a Bind-It-All for her birthday, but neither of us has done much research. Is this a good product? What makes version 2.0 better? Is 2.0 necessary? Also I found a bundle with the dreamkuts for a very reasonable price. Any comments on this gadget?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I have both and I use both. I have the 1st version of the BIA (Bind it all) and it works very good for what I use it for. I think that the 2.o version just has more force than the 1st version. I really love the dreamkuts as well. I can take a 12x12 sheet of paper and run it through the machine and have 4 perfect 6x6 pages for a mini-book. I use both in making gifts really more than anything.
I have the bind it all...the first version...and Love it...use it all the time...dont have the dream cuts, but may eventually get it...a friend has both and she love them...I got my bind it all for my birthday...it was the perfect gift...
I have version 2, and have had the blue one as well. The channel is a little wider so you can cut more stuff. I haven't noticed that big a difference. Also, there is a paper stop guide that I have not used either. But maybe if I used it I would like it!
I know that's probably not real helpful. I like to get things with the latest features whenever possible, so that's why I upgraded. Plus it's prettier. Either way you'd probably be ok!

I have the blue BIA and a Dreamkutz. Love them both! I used the pink (upgraded) BIA recently at a friend's house and thought it was pretty much the same machine. You can cut a couple extra pages at a time, but that's not worth buying a new machine (to me).
If I was buying a BIA for the first time, I'd look more seriously into the pink (2.0) one, but my blue one works great (and it matches my Dreamkuts LOL).
I just got the pink Dreamkutz, and I like it. It was easy and fun to use. However, I noticed that it didn't cut straight. I didn't know till I lined it up on my Scor-pal. It didn't flush to the edge of Scor-pal. It had shallow curve. I'm curious if it's just a defect on my machine or not. picture attached.

I have the blue bia and dreamkutz, I really like them both, I used my dreamkutz all the time when I was heavy into 4x6 and 6x6 recipe swaps, cuts very nicely and mine makes straight cuts, but, you have to make sure that your paper is 12x12 to get an accurate cut is all. It comes with a direction sheet to show how to make different size cuts also. The only difference between the two bia machines is that the pink one cuts thru thicker materials (more pages) than the blue and the pink one has the guide thingy.
