I like some of the dies which only used Big Shot Pro but I have a cuttlebug and Spellbinder Grand Calibur. Have anyone use this machine? Is it a good idea of getting one?
I have one & love it! I like being able to place my dies all over a 12 x 12 piece of card stock & cutting all of the shapes at one. I actually sold my regular Big Shot & exclusively use my Pro
LOVE my Big Shot PRO!!
I know Mike with CheeryLynn uses one and it works beautifully with those dies.
I enjoy being able to move a die all the way to an edge and not cut a paper that I want to keep whole....hope that made sense.
I also work with material and was able to cut dozens of circles in about half and hour with the PRO. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!
I purchased the Westminster one with the longer bed and top plate.
I started to sell my regular Big Shot but changed my mind so I can take it to crops and it is handy if I need to cut a couple small items at my desk or let a friend use it.
The three payment plan was perfect for me.
Well, I live in Manitoba, Canada... shipping must be costly as it's pretty heavy, right? Moreover, there will be custom duties to consider... and it's difficult to find BSP in Canada online. Thanks for your recommendation!
Pandarina, go to Sizzix dot com.
See if they ship to Canada. Shipping is free on any total of $100 or more and right now they have codes for 30% off shopping cart total or 40% off highest price item in your cart.
Added to the three payments plan makes it almost doable.
It might be worth a call, something to think about for sure.
But,, it is a LOT to spend on a hobby!
I did checked at Sizzix.com but it's out of stock and moreover, they would not send out to Canada. I found one called Treasured Memories from British Columbia in Canada selling at C$349.99 plus shipping approximately C$50. What do you think? Well, if I buy in the states, I am definitely sure that I have to pay custom duties and with the weight roughly 50lb, it might cost more too. Thanks for all the replies.
It is heavy, and it does have a large footprint, so you want to be able to put it somewhere you can use it without moving it first. BUT- I went with it because I really cannot imagine anyone producing any dies/folders/etc that it will not be able to cope with. I got fed up with having to upgrade my machine as newer/bigger/better dies and so on came out. I still use my bug if I only want to cut one thing quickly, but I love the fact that I can fit four or more embossing folders on one plate, or cut more than one (of the same sort) of die at a time. So I think its a once only upgrade.
