Default Big Shot and Nesties

I recently got a big shot and a set of nesties, but I think I'm missing something to make it work. In addition to the platform and standard cutting pads (that came with the BS), I have a silicone mat and the crease pad. Can this work for cutting and embossing with Nesties? If not, what else do I need?

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but seems like everyone has figured out different ways to do things, so I'm a big confused and everything I've tried so far doesn't work.

Thanks for your help!

I too have a big shot and used their crease pad with the nestabilities but wasn't thrilled with the results. I ended up buying the spellbinders embossing mats (they come 2 to a pack) and that made a huge difference. You can buy them thru several online stores, basically any store that sells spellbinders dies. If you still have the packaging for the nesties, it should have a place on there with instuctions to use different die cut machines and the Big Shot is on there. Hope that helps.

In order to cut and emboss with my Big Kick and Nesties I use this sandwich, from bottom to top

Multi Purpose platform, tab 2
Cutting plate
Nestie blade up
Cardstock face down
Crease pad

roll through machine.

It gives me a really deep emboss on my Nesties. When I don't want a deep emboss, I use my other cutting plate.

But like Shannan, there are others who've had more success with the spellbinders tan embossing mats. If you already have the crease pad, give it a go and see what you think.

Have fun!
