The target dollar spot is no longer the $1 spot I picked up some little notebooks today and they were $2.50. The girl at the checkout says that it is not only a dollar section but also 2.50.

Yes, they do still have the $1 signs up! I did the same thing. Mydaughtersaw something she wanted and put it in the cart and me thinking we were at the"Dollar Spot" I agreed to it! Well, it was $2.50!!!

...and then quietly under the items that are $2.50, they have littler signs saying 2/$5...I almost was caught in that trap when I was wowed by the neat-o things! Target is onto us!
Actually, I was in Target on Saturday and noticed that the signs DID NOT say "Dollar Spot" anymore. I didn't see anything marked more than $1, but I didn't really look too hard either. I can't remember what the verbage was, but it was different than it had been in the past.
Yes, our store took down the "Dollar Spot" signs too. They still have the big red bullseyes, but it no longer says "Dollar." The items that are 2/$5 were clearly marked in my store.
On a lighter note, I got some "black" spot items for 4/$1....totally awesome deal for birthday goodie bags!!! Thanks for the heads up, I'll certainly be on the lookout now!

My store had them separated with $1 on one side and 2/$5 on the other. I didn't notice it at first but then I picked up something and thought there's no way they are selling this for just a dollar! And I saw $2.50 on it. They almost had me!!
In mine I noticed that the "2 for $5" items were at least segretated into one spot...they weren't mixed in here and there with the $1 stuff.
Mine is similar but the "2 for $5" stuff is in a place where the $1 stuff used to be in the past. All they did was take a small section of the $1 spot and up the price of the items in it. Unless you're looking you don't really notice it - until it's too late.
Yup - guess Target needs to pay for all the advertising they do! Sucked us in at a buck and then upped the ante. Of course I'll always hit these aisles first, but I'll need to be much more careful before loading up my cart!

The 'island" part is $1 and against the wall is 2 for 5 at my Target. More of it is still $1 than the more expensive, I think.
I was in Target yesterday and noticed that there was just the bullseye overhead. The 2/$5 were in "separate" part of the display but as I was walking around, I did find quite a few bins of items just for a $1. In fact, they were being stocked. I picked up some cute stickers on triangular holders, a set of clear plastic storage bags for photos etc, and oh yeah, the coolest thing yet...apple scented ink pads..red and green. I thought it was so neat!
I just got back from Target and I think I want to smack them too. I saw a cute container system there last week and picked up two sets for $5. Today I saw another set, so I picked it up. The guy at the register scanned it twice and rang it up as 2 items for $5. I told him it was a set, showed him how the cardboard around them made it one unit and therefore it should have been one item for $2.50. He said, "do you want me to re-scan it" I said yes.
So, he deleted or edited something and rescanned the barcode on the containers. He said, $2.50 I said yes thanks. But I noticed the grand total didn't change. At that point my hubby was getting impatient and since we didn't have the receipt in hand I was doubting myself so I didn't say anything more. When I did get the reciept I saw 2 @ $2.50 - so I think he only deleted one of the original scans instead of both before he rescanned it. Now I am angry because I didn't stick up for myself until the situation was rectified. But I didn't want to be a jerk, especially since I wasn't totally sure I was right.
Bring your receipt back to the Customer Service counter and explain to them what happened. You need to stand up for yourself...I am getting much more assertive in my "old age". LOL Good Luck!!
You bet. Be firm. Our Target just completely reorganized. I can not find a thing. Only positive is they put a Starbucks in it. (nice for me! hee hee). The dollar spot is all crammed together, the racks go up higher, to make up for the area having less space. Makes me dizzy looking up and down. Can't stand it.
