I know SU has shimmery white cardstock but I was wondering if there are other companies out there that have a good product also. I'm hoping to be able to get a decent amount for a fair price to use for Christmas cards. Getting only 10 sheets of the SU c.s. I'd need to order like 7 packs of it....not in the budget! Any suggestions are welcome!
This may not be what your talking about BUT...I did just buy a pack of pearlescent paper @ Walmart...it is really pretty...but even better its only $5! and it has quite a variety of colors. I am very happy with that purchase!

 funny you should say that - I looked at the website and thought I had chosen a nice red color for my Christmas card and I happened to be at Target earlier and saw a multipack of cardstock with that red in it and it was much pinker in person and definitely not the look I was going for... glad I saw it first!
I went to a rubber stamp convention and there was a compnay there called Marco Paper. I bought a package of nothing but shimmery white cs. It was awesome. Some had tiny butterflies, some wavy stripes, some plain, some straight stripes..............all were white. I loved it. They are out of Ohio. Here's there link: http://marcopaper.com/
They usually list what conventions they will be at. Hope this helps.

You know the only thing that has put me off Marcopaper in the past is that I find their website very difficult to work out what is what - not being a paper expert myself. I'm a visual person.

I am so excited about that too! I just recently bought some of the shimmery white from SU and you just don't get the bang for the buck like you do with Papertrey's paper! Now if they'd just come out with black!!

I'm so glad Nichole made the announcement today about the shimmery white cardstock. I wanted so badly to share when I saw this thread the other day.

? care to elaborate? or is it just for a few to know?
I find Marcopaper a very good company. If you have trouble with the website, just call them, they are very helpful. I called once, and described what I needed for my Christmas cards, and they picked out just what I needed. I was hoping they would be at the convention in York, but they won't be there this year. However, I still order from them online, or by phone.
They have been very patient with me on the phone every time. Eileen

I know! I was thinking just yesterday that I could really use a nice black cardstock. Please Nichole?

You made me look! I might just order that sampler - especially as they will give the price of back to you IF you later order $50 of product. I don't think meeting that minimum would by a problem especially as I am looking for cardstock specifically for my Christmas cards this year! and of course anything else that falls in the basket
I too looked all over Marcos paper site for the shimmery white with details and can't find any of it...Does anyone happen to know the exact name they're calling it? It sounds wonderful and I'd love to see it.. Thanks

Slight hijack ... Marco's Paper (which has excellent customer service) is confirmed to be at the Heirloom Productions convention in Rhinebeck, NY this September (I believe the dates are the 20th and 21st). Not sure if that's a do-able trip for you but the surrounding area is very pretty if you are able to stay overnight.
As for shimmery/pearlescent cardstock I recently (May/June) bought several sheets in various colors (Cucumber is my favorite but I also like Papaya) from The Paper Company. They call it Metallic Cover and it was available in 8.5 x 11 and 12x12. The cucumber color was on clearance so I only paid a quarter for each 8.5 x 11 sheet. I did not see any white or nearly white colors. It feels very slightly thicker than SU's shimmery white.

Marco's also sells Nestabilities by Spellbinders ... that could very easily get you to $50!
It's not white cardstock, but the most shimmery card stock I've seen is Wausau Paper 48 Sheets of 12" x 12" Pearlescent Scrapbook CardstockItem: 768-638 from HSN.
I ordered some metallic card stock-shimmery white, or ice white from
Flourishes......I have some that has a sparkly look to it, but not sure if it's this brand or not.....

Does anyone know if The paper company is still around? I loved th cucumber shimmer paper and need more but can't find it anywhere.
I couldn't find anything that indicates the company is still in business. I no longer remember what the color looks like but maybe this link will be a good lead for a substitute:
