I've been collecting wine corks for quite awhile. I have a big Ziplock bag full. I was thinking I'd use them for a project with my Girl Scout troop - but school's out and we didn't end up using them.
Does anyone have any creative ideas on what to do/make with corks? I'd love to see samples if you have any photos.
I have filled a tray (from the unfinished wood aisile at michaels) with the corks on their sides in a checkerboard style 2 or 3 for each square - depending on the width and length of the cork, hope that makes sense. I also have a small tray filled with corks as a trivet. Love them! Glue them in and seal...
I used mine like a stamp. The end that the cork screw didn't pierce is a perfect circle and other end looks a little like a wheel. I sort of used it for a one sheet wonder. I will try to scan and post a masculine card I made frim it in my gallery.
If you have a girl scout troop, keep them 'til Christmas! There is a really cute reindeer ornament you can make with them. I saw patterns for it several places online when I was searching at Christmas for crafts for my students.
I've actually made a cut into them, and stamped little cards with people's names on them to make placecard holders.

On martha stewart a lady had the same question. She glued them to a board for a display to show all the different kinds of wine they had. she may have made a message board out of it too.
