Default Alcohol Inks & Christmas colors?

I used my Micheal's 50% off coupon to buy a package of alcohol inks. I got the set with the cranberry, lettuce and eggplant colors. The other set that I looking at has meadow, slate and currant. I am wondering which green would make a better Christmas green, the stream or the meadow. I am assuming that the cranberry would make a good Christmas red? I'm not quite sure what color the currant is. Which is the better buy colorwise for the more traditional Christmas colors?

I don't have the Meadow; but I do have the Stream, and it has a lot of blue in it. I hope that helps you.

Stream is definitely a blue-ish teal color. Meadow is similar to Garden Green, maybe slightly darker. I think it would make a very nice Christmas color.

May I ask what you use alcohol inks for? I have just the regular pads and craft, versamark and stazon...not sure what you use this for and am thinking I may be missing something fun....
Thanks.

I've been using the currant and meadow for my Christmas projects.

Thanks.
This tutorial explains it all!

I just did a test for you; meadow comes out very close to the color of Stampin Up's Certianly Celery.

I think there are ten sets of three colors.
Joann's and Michael's carry only four sets, Hobby Lobby has six and I found the rest of the ten sets at Archiver's.

Pepper red is great for Christmas.

I never realized that there are so many colors. Thanks Roxi for the test. I was having so much fun with the first set I bought, and based on your info, I went back to Micheals and bought another 2 sets. I was also in a store in Buffalo on the weekend and bought Red Pepper. They were selling the colors individually, which I had not seen before. I think I am going to do all my Christmas cards this year with alcohol inks. Has anyone tried the metallic alcohol inks?

I've have the matallics and they are nice. I have a few cards with them in my gallery but the colors don't show up real well or not at all. I also like the pearl which comes in one of the sets. It's a soft look.

Hobby Lobby is about an hour away from us so I've only been there three times but the first two visits I saw that they sold the bottles individually but this last time they only had the sets.
