Question Adhesives...?

I just noticed on the fiskar's tabs I was using on a craft project that nowhere on the box does it state that they are acid free. Neither does the double sided tape I have. I have some tape runners, and I do believe they are, but I'll have to recheck that later. I have no qualms about using those adhesives on cards, but not sure about using them in a scrapbook with my pictures. I was thinking of using doublesided tape later, due to ease of use and ease of purchasing, but not sure now.

O.k., I just noticed that Scotch makes a double sided scrapbooking tape. So maybe I'll use the other on cards and buy new for scrapbooking.
The description on the regular double sided Scotch tape says it is photo friendly. Not sure exactly what that means.

I have contacted Scotch in the past about their tapes being acid free and all they would say is that if it does not acid free, it probably is not.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! That does help! I used up four boxes of adhesive tabs today and yesterday on a craft project, and the two I have left are by a different company and clearly state they are acid free. I just wondered about the Fiskars. It cost money to change the print on packaging, so it made me wonder if they weren't acid free. Guess I won't have to worry about the Fiskar's ones, as I used them up.
I think I am going to use the regular double sided Scotch tape on cards, as it is so easy to use. And think I will use the scrapbooking scotch tape and tape runners for scrapbooking.
I had seen the ATG's, but my hands are small, and I thought it might be to big and clunky for me. Also, I hate ordering by mail, and we have NO scrapbooking or craft stores nearby, only Walmart. I like things that are easy to find and affordable. In fact, I've been ill with our local walmart, as they have been out of the cardstock they carry forever! (Georgia Pacific brand), unless you want neon colors.

I would say get the ATG. I have smallish hands and carpel tunnel in both wrists and I was apprehensive about getting one too. But, honestly, it is the best adhesive investment I have made. I have the pink ATG and it is light and once you get use to the trigger, it works for everything. I buy only the acid free refills online as well from tape depot and get them very inexpensively. This way I don't have to worry (or switch adhesives) when I want to scrapbook.

Another vote for the ATG. I have problems with my hands - weakness and pain. But I can use the ATG with no problem at all.. as a matter of fact, it might actually be easier on my hands because I don't have to "fight" it.

When I asked 3M about the difference between the acid-free and regular adhesive, the customer service rep I spoke to told me that the non-acid free is so low in acid that it is considered photo-safe. That said, I found the acid free to work better for me.
