I am just wondering what is taking 7 kids college fund so long in getting the pre ordered Nesties in... there are SEVERAL on line sites, that appear smaller in size, that already have theirs in, I pre ordered a LONG time ago and money was taken THEN and THERE... Does anyone have the scoop on this???
By the time I wait I will have to use them NEXT Christmas!
It all depends on when they ordered from Spellbinders. Spellbinders is always one of the first booths I visit at CHA because they ship their orders in the order they are received. I got my order (it was in two shipments about 4 days apart because not everything was available) 2 weeks ago but I was at their booth on the first day of CHA.
But, this is EXACTLY why I don't offer pre-orders on my site. Stores can't necessarily control when they get their inventory and customers get all upset when they pre-order and don't get it any faster than anyone else. I don't think that is the intent of pre-order. You're pre-ordering from the retailer so they can gauge how many items to purchase but it doesn't mean they get their shipment from the manufacturer any faster.
this is exactly why I stopped ordering from 7kids~ I was tired of half the stuff I wanted being preorder and it taking forever to get an order. Hope your stuff comes soon.
I've pre-ordered a couple of times. I don't mind the wait because at least the information is kept up-to-date when you check your order online. My understanding is that pre-ordering is more to gauge interest than meaning you get it ultra-fast - and that when the stock does come in, it has your name on it already.
Hope you don't have to wait too much longer.
I preordered August 27th from 7kids. Order is still in processing. I can be patient... I think! i understand about preorders to gauge level of order required, without any firm commitment from the manufacturer for shipping times.
Thanks Kate... I have ordered from 7kids when the Big Shot Express was new... it took FOREVER to get but I DID get it...
*******
I know it doesn't mean I'll get it before everyone else, I just figured when they started showing up everywhere else mine would be soon shipping... yep, still shows processing... I guess I'm just a bit irritated as I already PAID ($60) for them and sit with NOTHING..... :(
*******
Thanks for all your help ladies... I guess next time I'll just order from companies when I see they are IN.... I do see Kate has them in at I {heart} papers and she has EXCELLENT customer service... Megan Locke got me hooked on them!!!! LOL
I preordered from Scrapmart and got mine a couple of weeks ago. I was a bit hesitant to do the preorder thing, but I was very happy with how quickly they shipped them to me. But I probably would've bought them there anyway, I love that store...
I know they are very quick to ship once the preorder items arrive.
Yes and she is SUPER great if you have an issue with a product... IE...Bigshot express... she was GREAT to dealwith.... I guess I'm just JEALOUS that people getta play and I DONT!!!! :( LOL

Never heard of them... hmmmm... LOL Just what I need another site!!!!!
I pre-ordered from Scrap-Mart . All but two sets came a couple of weeks ago and I got an email 2 days ago that the last two sets I ordered are in the mail.
I have never been disappointed with Scrap-Mart. BTW I don't know these people , I am just a satisfied customer
Scrap-Mart DOES NOT charge your credit card until they ship the items . You have to use a CC because PayPal will charge for it when the pre-order is placed. And they seem to get their things faster than some other places.
Some of the newer dies seem to be in short supply from Spellbinders.
They have free shipping on all Spellbinders, JustRite and a couple of other brands. And there is no minimum purchase for free shipping on those items. Then they have free shipping on $50 + for other things. . So If you need one die for a special project you can order one die and get it at a discount and free shipping.
I stopped pre ordering from 7 Kids because I paid for things and then had to wait for "weeks" to get them. I don't like the idea I must pay for something and who knows when I will get it.
The woman at 7 kids says charging a credit card when you place a pre -order is " Industry Standard", but I have found most places do not charge your card until they ship.

Preorders... I have a love hate relationship with those as a retailer. Years ago Basic Grey was the hot thing to get and boy they could mess up shipping times. I was always on pins and needles. Now it is spellbinders, and I almost didn't offer preorder thing just because I hate not being able to control when they come in. I did get half mine in already and the other half should be here next week. But you can really only go by what you are told.
Industry standard is not to charge the card immediately, it is dependent on how your gateway/cart is set up, some shopping carts are set up that way, and you cannot change it, just like paypal, the transaction is initiated immediately. I really depends on who they use and how the process their cards.
I have bought every single Nestie I own (and I own most of them) from Tab at 7 Kids and have never had any problems. She does her best to keep her customers informed on what is going on with her pre-orders on her blog.
It doesn't seem right to blame her for Spellbinders shipping "issues" and taking forever to ship them to her. She ships very quickly when the product arrives from Spellbinders. I know one of my two Nestie pre-orders shipped yesterday.
It really doesn't bother me that my credit card is charged... if I purchase something I am prepared to pay for it.
Hi ladies! I asked Tab about the status of the Nesties and she asked me to post this. Please be patient with 7 Kids, this is all quite out of her control
I know that everyone is very excited to get their hands on the new Spellbinders products!!! I realize some customers are wondering why their LSS has their Spellbinders already or why a friend got their shipment from another store. The reason is: we are all in line. When Spellbinders receives their products in their warehouse, they can't instantly ship to every store that ordered them at that very moment so all stores get their shipments at the exact same time. There are hundreds and hundreds of large orders to process over a number of days. Where you are in line for orders depends on when you get your order. I also order my product from a distributor, so I have to wait for my distributor to get their product from SB. Because of the size of their order, the distributor receives multiple shipments over multiple days. Therefore, I receive multiple shipments for my orders. The original estimate was that dies would begin shipping to retailers at the end of August (meaning the end customer could expect to be receiving their dies around mid-September). My first shipment was sent to me on 9-2 and arrived 9-9. I am in the process of packaging and shipping orders that can be filled with the products in that shipment. The remainder of my items were shipped on 9-8 and 9-9 and will be arriving 9-14 and 9-15. I will be packaging up the remainder of the preorders at that time.
The bottom line is: the orginal estimated ship date was pretty close (within 9 days of the end of August), which those of you have done preorders in the past know (remember the Provo Craft release of birds and swirls and swiss dots???). AND, 7 Kids doesn't promise that you'll be the very first person in the country to have a product, I only promise that I will give you the best price I can and ship them without delay just as soon as I get them.
Tabitha is awesome. She always gets things out right away (and quicker if you tell her if you need them right away). She answers every e-mail I have sent her, and I've never had any problems. She really listens to her customers, and to me that is the best kind of customer service!
My friend ordered the snowflake from Notions for me 3 weeks ago and it's still on pre-order with them - and everything else came in last week. I'm hoping it's in her order for tomorrow.
