I think the keepsake temp will work out wonderfully for what i have in mind. Thanks so much. I was thinking along the lines of a card temp too but now that I have seen the keepsake item....I think I am gonna give it a try. Thanks again everyone!
Would this work? Not my idea but I linked you the printable template for the graduation hat. Made more this year and the are so easy! Especially since you can print them out! I think that these could be modified to use as just a card instead of a gift card too....
here are pics of a card i did for a grad it is just in the begining stages but you get the idea here .. i made these for my daughter graduation invites also
they are super easy to do and the tassle holds the card shut by wrapping all around it

I made several of these last year, and yes, they're really easy to do. My DD is graduating this year so I need to make alot for her friends. Unfortunately,my mom liked these too, so I need to make a batch for her to send out as well. lol

Best graduation card ever!!! by tiggspence at Splitcoaststampers
Here is a card I made this year. It is a graduation cap that opens to a card. See my gallery for more pics-I think it is along the lines of what someone posted-but here are pics.
Take an 8 x 8. Score diagonally one way and at 4" on both sides.
Hold in front of you like a diamond with diagonal score line horizontally. Take both side points and fold to bottom point, this will bring down the top point. Add a tassle to the front and decorate. It is really easy-I am just not good at directions Easy and very creative.
