If it is word window, SU has a word window punch. That would be my best guess. I hope that helps a little, sorry though if I am way off on what was meant by word window or window word?? ;)

Thanks! No need to apologize. I'm a newbie and I still learning all the terminologies!

Windows Word refers to the program in Windows used for word processing (as opposed to Windows Publisher or Windows Access or Windows Excel). Whenever you need to access a picture (.jpeg, .gif, or .bmp, or .png, etc.) and you don't have another graphics program (Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop, etc.) installed, you would used either Windows Word or Windows Paint to crop, erase, change color or size, or add lettering, etc.

Word Window, as mentioned above, refers to the SU paper punch that looks like a rectangle with rounded ends. HTH.

Joan:

What a great piece of advice to remind us all. Like the teachers used to say, the only dumb question is the one you are afraid to ask! ;)

Colleen, Thank you for your advice, too.

The semantics will get us every time! Add to the confusion is different terms from different countries. For example: here in the States, we call a knife that cuts paper a craft knife or an Xacto knife. In the UK, Canada and Australia it in called a scalpel (can you imagine what would happen if you went into your local hardware or crafts store and say you wanted some replacement scalpel blades???? "Hey! Just what kinda hobby are you into?!?!?!?" :o).

Speaking of craft blade replacements... if you have an OSH hardware nearby, they have a 100 count box for around $14.00. Wait until they have a 10% coupon/sale. The box is nice because it is small and you don't need to find another storage container (as you might for the 5, 10 or 50 count blades). My local Lowes and Home Depot have no idea what I'm taking about, and they have all manner of blades.

If I may, I'd like to correct Card Maker 01's comment. What she is referring to is very popular software made by Microsoft. The software, called Microsoft Office, consists of a suite of programs with various business uses. he programs are Word, Excel, PowerPoint and some others. Note that the reason I am responding to the earlier comment is because this software is never referred to as "Windows Word" or "Windows Excel". The reason being that the software can also be used on Mac computers, which are the anti-thesis to Windows.

Anyway, to ramble on just a bit further. Here are the main programs included with MS Office: (a) Word; used for word processing/document editing. Like writing a report, resume, or letter. (b) Excel; a spreadsheet program used when you have things that are in row-column format. Like doing a budget or making a list of stamps. The big value here is that you can do mathematical functions on the rows & columns (like adding up each of the line items in your budget).

Another value of Word is, as pointed out by Card Maker 01, that you can easily cut/paste pictures. For instance I have a couple of documents with pix of Card Ideas. If I find a Card on the internet that I might want to scrap-lift at some later time I just cut/paste it into my "Card Ideas" document for future reference. I actually have about 10 different documents for different ideaa (like BOY, GIRL, SCRAPBOOK LO, CARDS, etc.
