There are so many techniques now that I am wondering what technique you found that is easier than you thought it would be. It looked all to scary and then you tried it and BAM (said in that Emeril tone) it was easier to do than you thought?
I am so wanting to try some new ones.. but I skeered of some of them.. ie the bleaching one...
I found bleaching using the bleaching pen to be very easy and successful, particularly if you emboss the image. (you can make a little reservior of the bleach solution on a CD, or the lid of the ink pad, and it's much easier to control than liquid bleach.) Crayon resist is fun, too. Go for it- it's fun to play!
Crayon Resist was it for me! I always loved the look but was so scared to try it. My dd came in & showed me & I was like "Slap me upside the head! I can't believe how easy that is!!" Just go for it! If it doesn't turn out, you can alwas try again.
I just saw a card using the "Warhol Technique." It was awesome! Look in the gallery under Classic Captions....the person did an awesome job and it is incredibly reminiscent of Andy's work!
I love direct to paper also.... When you take the ink pad itself (old style, flip top SU pads) and rub it or smear it on your cardstock. I'll try to link you to the first card I did with the DTP technique. Really bad picture (there was something wrong with my camera lens) but it will give you the idea....
My favorite is "Thumping" with the markers. I LOVE how it looks on a nice bold stamp, like Big Pieces. The result is always a WOW and it's SO easy and fun. What a fun thread!

While I love watercolouring I must say the one technique that scared me at first was Cracked Glass. Now once I tried it I loved it and it isn't really very difficult at all. Love the antique look of it.
I love the cracked glass technique and the technique (forget name) where you glue torn bits of paper together to create a solid sheet and then can stamp or cut it out. My brain is mushy this morning so can't remember the actual name for it. Anyone remember what this is called? Not mosaic...something else???? Its an old technique, been around for yrs but its so easy and fun to do.

I also love the faux linen as shown in one of the tutorials on here.

What is "Thumping" ?...... this is a new technique I've not heard of
Using chalks with VersaMark ink is one of my most fave techniques. I loved it when I first learned the technique as it's so easy but looks gorgeous. Great for backgrounds and focal images alike.
But I find that as it's a technique I learned a long time ago I tend not to do it so much any more. But I made some chalked cards at my monthly card group last week and fell in love with it all over again!
I like Dazzling Diamonds, too. Anything that sparkles catches my eye. I also like faux mother of pearl, poppin pastels are fun, reverse masking, faux postage is another fav.....on and on. I have to really get out there and try more of them!

I am just getting started so at the moment, I like just simple Stamping in a colour that will stand out so say Black on White or pink on white etc etc. I am also getting into my colouring with Tombo Pens (watering down) and Twinkling H2O's.
Try "thumping." Ink a solid-image stamp with a light color, then take two coordinating colors of markers and tap them all over the inked stamp using the brush tip. Breathe on the stamp to remoisten the ink, then stamp on paper. You'll get a really fun speckled look.
