I feel that I have looked everywhere for this information...I am getting ready to upload photos of cards...FINALLY!!!!! I have been a lurker for quite awhile and now that I am a member of the Fan Club, I want to post photos...How does everyone do that thing with the singatures on the photos? Is it a specific program to add that? Adobe Photo or what? I have looked into many threads on SCS and typed in the search fields but no luck on pinpointing exactly what I am looking for. If there is anyone that can assist me with this I would be extremely thankful for the info.
What type of (if any) graphics program do you have on your puter? This will better enable us to help you. I have PSP and Printshop so could help you there
I actually do not have anything on this computer as of right now...I am in the process of getting a Dell computer hooked up by XMAS?? Is there a software program that would be recommended? I was looking into Photoshop...also do I need a flat scanner or can I just upload from my Memory cards? Or is it recommended to scan?
Hi there I used photoshop for mine, well i cheated, my son (graphic designer) sorted it for me, i tried to follow what he did but oooo i left him to it!!! Good luck. x Mo
What I do is add the text ( my name, logo, graphic, etc) on a new layer over my work, then lower the opacity of the text. I do this in PSP, but it can be done in Printshop, Photoshop, Dip and other programs I'm sure
Thank you Jennie...that was just what I was looking for. I will definitely be asking Santa for Photoshop this year...teeheehee. BTW...Your dominoes are incredibly beautiful on your blog!
Hi there... Photoshop can be pretty expensive. You may want to look into Paint Shop Pro. You can do many of the same things in PSP as you can in PS. You can also download a trial version to test. Hmm I think they may have changed name to Corel Paint Essentials. Anywho, if you go to Corel.com and click on FreeTrials on top you can browse what's available.
Just wanted to say that I have Photoshop 4.0...if anyone has that, I would be glad to walk you thru the process. I actually purchased my watermark because I didn't want to bother figuring out how to make my own...so if you have the watermark I can tell you how to get it on your photo if you have 4.0. Just email me!
I use Photoshop Elements - which is about $100 as opposed to the full blown Photoshop at $500. I bought it mostly for making watermarks, but I've figured out it's a really easy way to make sure my photos look the best they can.- There are automatic color and brightness adjusters (making some of it idjit proof, so even I can't mess something up), cropping photos is really easy. The only thing I don't like it for is to resize a photo. There's no easy way to condense a photo down to ___ pixels x ___ pixels.
Stampin' Kub has a wonderful tutorial on SCS somewhere on how to make a watermark on Photoshop too. I watched it 40 times to make sure I was doing it correctly.
Thanks deipara for pointing that out..I totally forgot about Elements and how inexpensive it is. I automatically assumed the full version of PS, which yes runs close to $700.
subscribing, cause one day i'll be able to figure this out. for now, i just write my name of a piece of transparency paper and put in on top of the card and take a photo. i've just got to remember to do it more often! lol
That's a great tutorial. I was looking for a way to do this and knew it involved a layer, but this is much more sophisticated. Thanks very much for the information.
I have used elements for everything for years, and I got the Scott Kelby book that explains it well. It even shows how to do watermarks. And daipara you change the size when you save it.
Whoo Hoo! I followed Stampin Kub's tutorial (posted above) and I have created my watermark! That tutorial is a life-saver! I'll post something tomorrow using it!

What a great link! Thanks so much for posting this, because I have been working the last 2 weeks trying to figure this out. Can't wait to try this out tomorrow!

i was just trying to figure out how they do the watermark thing, and happened to look at the first page of the forum, and there it was! this thread! I head tread this whole page, and I want to see if there is a way to do it without buying a program, like in MS word, or from my hp image editing software that came with the printer/scanner/copier ?
Stampin' Kub is really the best tutorial but I'm going to look at the other one on here. SK is the reason I bought Photoshop Elements to begin with. His instructions are in 4, but I bought 5 which was available at the time. I still did fine. BUT I upgraded to 6 & it doesn't work quite the same. I can make it work, but it's not as smooth & easy as 5.
Get Photoshop Elements 5 while you still can. There is a bit of a learning curve with Photoshop products, but they work well.
having dial-up..it is useless for me to try and veiw anything on video..dang..i have just gotten paintshop..so would appreciate any help doing this..thanks ahead for any replies..loves ya

In MS Word, type your text, go up to format, font, and under effects, choose emboss or engrave.
I looked at the Kub watermark tutorial and since I am new to Photoshop it took me an hour just to figure out how to do it.
Now I am stuck in the part where you can just copy and paste this watermark to my pictures...do I need to save this watermark as a special document like .psd or .jpg?
Once I have created this watermark...how do I place it on my pic?
I have a Lexmark printer, scanner, copier, fax - the machine does everything but cook dinner and make the coffee. LOL.
I just found out I can add my watermark when I scan my cards. And if I save the text in Word for the different stamps (Stampin' Up, Whispers, Sugar Loaf, etc) I can copy and past it right into the image.
Is that as clear as mud?
I was wondering how to do the watermark and this gave me the idea to try doing it through the scanner.
