Default Vellum shade question

This might be a silly one, but I was wondering if it is actually safe to burn a candle with the vellum shade on the wine glass candle lamp. Seems like it might be a fire hazard. Can anyone tell me is this ok to do or is it just for looks?

I have used tea lights in mine. Your glass should be narower at the top so you can trim it so it does not stick up over the top of the glass and it still will not fall down either!
