Here is what I used in Word for my niece's bd party just recently, It is a card template that i have.
this may show up kind of funky because I used a font called Cool Dots but you can highlight and change the font to anything you want in the box. The text is done in a text box. I print off the whole page on cardstock and cut in half for two cards. PM me if you have any other questions or need some help. The picture of the finished invitation is in my gallery, it is a Disney princess card.
hope this helps you out.

I usually print on a regular piece of printer paper as a test, and make adjustments until the text lines up correctly, then print on cardstock. This way I don't waste any of my cardstock.
