I've had quite a number of requests for the pattern for these triangular shaped explosion cards. I received one in the mail yesterday from Gremhog and just had to reproduce her card!

Trace the inside template onto CS and cut out. I have found that a thinner, non SU CS works a little bit better as it is folded many times. Computer paper is too thin. Decorate as you desire. Fold along all lines. Basically, making a fold so that the flat sides come together...do this 3 times, opening your paper up each time. Then after you have folded your paper, cut along one of the fold lines from the point to the center. Then refold your paper into a triangle using an accoridan fold technique.
Cut 2 of the cover templates and decorate as desired. They will be glued on the the first piece of CS. But first, attach your ribbon to the bottom triangle on the side that will be glued to the "explosion" part. Make sure your ribbon is long enough to tie. It wraps around to the front triangle.
The triangle cover measures 4 7/8 inches. The hexagon inside measures a hair less than 9.25 inches from point to point and 8 inches from flat edge to flat edge.
It is actually a very simple card. I'm so glad that my mom stamps and shares her fun projects with me!
