It is a fun technique. I make art quilts, and I often take a piece of muslin, wet it, paint it with fabric paint (to get the affect I'm going for, like water, clouds, dark mist.....) then sprinkle on some COARSE salt granules and let it dry.

The results are always unpredictable, and always stunning!
