Hi,
I am just trying the RSVP pens for the first time, and I can't get the paper in the tube! I read on a post that the paper needs to be 1"x3.25", and I can't get the paper in the tube! Anyone got any suggestions?!?!?!?!?! Thanks in advance!
Is the problem that the paper is too long, or that you just can't squeeze the rolled up paper down the tube?
The only way I can get this to work is to take the actual pen itself out of the plastic barrel. Roll the paper tightly around the pen (this way you know it will fit). Then slide the paper off and put it down inside the plastic barrel. Sometimes I have to give it a twist to get it all the way down. Then re-insert the pen, and it should all fit!
I can get the paper in all but 1 inch! Then it crumples up and won't go in!!!!!! I have tried 3 pieces of paper now, and still no luck! Maybe I need to tape it?
I get the paper wound around something slightly smaller than the pen barrel. Then I slip it off and insert it into the barrel, it unfolds in there and has always worked for me. Another question, you aren't using CS are you? I can never get CS to work.

I've never had a problem with that are you using typing paper or cardstock? Cardstock is too thick. I found that out the hard way! I usually take out the inside of the pen and roll the paper around that before inserting it like the other person said.
I thought you were supposed to stick the paper on the outside of the pen and then put the beads over it????? Is this a different technique??? Anyone have pictures of this??? Sounds VERY interesting! Thanks!

I believe there are two ways of making RSVP pens...
One is to insert the paper in the barrel and the other is to use labels or such to stick to the outside of the pens... Pretty similar results I believe.
This IS a little hard. I have used CS, but it doesn't roll nicely. It takes a lot of finger dexterity and patience! If you cut your paper a little smaller so you don't have too much rolled over itself, that will help. Otherwise, it might be better to use thinner paper you have stamped.

Yep! I use a chop stick to roll the printer paper on. I do it several times, then slide it right in. Never use CS for this task.
Cut the paper to 3 1/2 inches x 7/8 inches - take the pen part out, roll it up and slide the paper in the tube. Works like a charm but this is using printer paper not cardstock which would be harder to use becuase it is a stiffer paper and prbably would not roll well.
I just made one of these pens to match an acrylic post it note holder. I didn't use printer paper. I used a sheet of the recollections and cut it to 3" x 7/8". I carefully rolled the paper around the actual ink tube so I could get it nice and tight. Then I kept it rolled up tight and slipped it into the barrel of the pen. It unfurled a bit (what I was hoping for), then put the ink tube back in and screwed the top back on. Worked perfectly--no tearing!
I roll mine in my hands. After I get it cut, I begin rolling it slowly back and forth to make sure it's going to roll up. As it does, I move my hands back and forth (like when you're trying to warm them up) faster and faster until my paper is small enough to fit inside.
I cut a drinking straw the length of my paper insert and stick double sided tape around the straw and roll your paper around it and then insert it into the pen barrel. HTH.
